He is the 'Bearer of Light' and God of the Evening Star and Morning Star. He denies any connection with SATAN or any scaly tailed entity with horns.
Under the Greeks he was the gleaming God PHOSPHEROS.
Now I have no problem with Satan, but isn't it a bit unfair towards Lucifer to associate him with something he is not?

Kithy: Thats true, theres actually allot of occultists that believe Jesus and Lucifer is the same entity. I think the Gnostics also hold dear to this belief but i'm not sure.

forhisglo...:Sorry to be so blunt but your answer reeks of ignorance. Lucifer is not found in Judaism and Roman Gods were worshipped about the same time (maybe even before) Judaism. Read the Torah. Christianity is a newer religion and Lucifer is not found in the older translations of the Bible either. If you want to blindly follow this faith that’s ok with me, but don’t shun us ‘non-Christians’ for keeping our eyes wide open to see all the lies and hypocrisy in this belief you think is the ‘only truth’, it’s not.

The King James mistranslation compounds confusion because of the association of Venus / Lucifer / "Morning Star". The original Hebrew makes clear that the word " Lucifer " is not an accurate translation. "Light Bringer" clearly is not what was intended. The actual Hebrew word hay-lale does not mean "star" but "bright or clear sounding.

The name Lucifer occurs once in the Scriptures and only in some versions of the Bible. For example, the King James Version renders Isaiah 14:12: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!"
The Hebrew word translated "Lucifer" means "shining one." The Septuagint uses the Greek word that means "bringer of dawn." Hence, some translations render the original Hebrew "morning star" or "Daystar." But Jerome's Latin Vulgate uses "Lucifer" (light bearer), and this accounts for the appearance of that term in various versions of the Bible.
Who is this Lucifer? The expression "shining one," or "Lucifer," is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a "proverbial saying against the king of Babylon." Thus, it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description "shining one" is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement: "Down to Sheol you will be brought." Sheol is the common grave of mankind-not a place occupied by Satan the Devil. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask: "Is this the man that was agitating the earth?" Clearly, "Lucifer" refers to a human, not to a spirit creature.-Isaiah 14:4, 15, 16.

Well put! But I doubt it'll make an impression on those that link Lucifer to Satan. What is rather interesting though, is the fact that Jesus is called the Morning Star in Revelation. So they contradict even their own Bible.

The Lucifer that is mentioned in the Bible is not a Roman God. He is satan. Also called the dragon and many other names in the Bible. The book that mentions Lucifer in the Bible was written hundreds of years before the Roman Empire ever existed.

Christianity pulled a bunch of mythologies together and made their own. What you people thought jesus was the first virgin born son of god? Think he was the first to die on a cross? No, there are plenty of other mythological demi gods. Which is all jesus really is. Half man half god....just like Thor.

Because lucifier was kicked out of heaven for defying God. He used to be an angel, then he decieded to excersie his free will. God used to allow him to come back and forth out of heaven. Now God has kicked him out of heaven called him satan and satan rules this system of things. Satan and lucifier are the same.

The Christians gained power by twisting old pagan tales as opposed to merely ignoring them.

Probably to help convince the polytheists that their gods were wrong and evil. They did the same thing to other pagans by making Satan look a lot like their great horned god.
It's like this:
"Stop worshiping your gods and worship ours!"
"But we like our god."
"But see? Our god says your god is really Satan."
"Oh... that's bad, it it?"
