No, you just need a bootable disk with Windows on it.

Please read the question before you start critisising women (your own I think). My question about men leaving pregnant women was left with an insulting comment. A lot of educated women I know has partners leave them these include PHDs and the likes, it happens frequently mainly because these women earn good incomes so do not have to tolerate such behaviour of men and take them back. I find your answer insulting to women in general, I thought we had come much further. Go home and get your tea on for your man or he might even fix your windows 2000, if he is not with some "uneducated women".
lots of love

No - you can use the original CD or DVD that you got Win2K or WinXP on and re-install Windows from the bootup console. You are given the choice to overwrite or to correct the installation. Correcting the installation will re-install the original files back to their original condition - a very good way to refresh everything, especially if you have been taken over by a virus. Just remember to turn OFF the file protection on WinXP when you do this.

Hi
Emergency Repair Disks are a must for every computer but if you do not have one there are other ways to keep windows working . By pressing the F8 button , and scroll down to the LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION , it will restore your pc to its original settings . I make it a habbit to always reboot my pc if there is a problem with it
