The caffeine in soda comes from the cola beans or is added by the mfg co. Ginger root (which is what ginger ale was originally made with, but now artifical flavors are used), does not contain any caffeine, thus there is none in the soda.

Caffeine has no flavor, so it COULD be added, but why would you want to?

I like the fact that there is no caffiene in ginger ale. I do not drink anything with caffiene in it, so this is a good choice for me. It helps when you have an upset stomach as well. Root beer does not have caffiene now this is true, except for Barq's and that tastes NASTY!! I did not know that Barq's had caffiene until I read the ingredients, I assumed all root beer was decaf! That is why Barq's has bite and they bite. Coke makes it, go figure they used to have cocaine in coke so people would get addicted, that is a bad business and I do not like Coke. Only sprite now though since 7UP tastes strange with their new recipe and all. Good luck!

Caffeine occurs naturally in kola nuts, one the flavorings in colas. Many people desire the mild stimulation, and soft drink makers are happy to add a little extra caffeine.

Ginger ale is a usually a lemon/lime ginger flavored drink. Caffeine doesn't occur naturally in those ingredients. A manufacturer could add caffeine to the ginger aie, but most people don't expect it.

What from I know, Caffiene is added into most soft drinks - it's not like its naturally occuring or anything. Ginger Ale probably came out of a folk remedy - and the recipe therefore stayed the same. It's a good quetion to ask Schewpps.

Um, gosh, I would say it is because of the ingredients in ginger ale. No ingredients with caffeine, no caffeine in the soda. You didn't seriously thing that caffeine was just added by itself, did you?

No one added it in. All it is is carbonated water, sugar and ginger flavor. You could add caffeine yourself, but it would likely taste pretty bad.
