Dont go into too much info bout your ex.Ask the new guy what he would like to know but keep it simple as you and him arent dating. You dont wanna scare the poor guy away and ruin your chances.Good Luck

This is just my point of view.
When it comes too the opposite sex asking questions like that --It would be a big turn off.
If you are really interested in some one why would you wish to go over that part of there life .
unless later on they would like to hold it over you when they might deside to look for a easy way out of the relationship !
If I was to answer such a question I would only say positive things --keep it short -like --well he was a nice person be that was just not for me.Or we just did not see things eye to eye .But no I would not give out to much --
Always remember the decisions you personnely make in life are up to you and somethings are left better unsaid. Deep down only you know why and that is all that matters.
This is a good question ,Thank you for bringing it up

He wants to know if you and your ex will restart a relationship or maybe he doesn't want to make the same mistakes. More or less a person mostly dig in your past to gain clues for the future example What type of person you are? What guys you go for? things you hate in a relationship? Does he stand a chance with you? etc (simply he is interested in you)

He wants to know if you are really over him, available, and ready for a new relationship. He doesn't want to get involved with you, only to find out you are still not over your ex. Make sure you are over your ex before you start a new relationship. Just dating is okay, as long as you are honest about what you are looking for.

Be honest with him about your past relationship and inform him of things that you think he should know. Perhaps he is asking so he doesn't make the same mistakes as your previous man and/or what you don't want in a man. Communication after all is number one in any relationship.

He might want to know what your ex was like so he can compare him with himself.

Like if you replied, "He was very well endowed and strong," and this new guy isn't, then he might think he's not good enough for you. Suddenly in his mind you're attracted only to fit blokes with big penises.

men are not like us women, but he amy want to date you and want to fine out if you don't love him any more. what i'd do is set down and tell him the truth of the brake up. and you ask him questions after all is a two way street. but be honest at all time and ask him to be all so. ask why he wants to no??

I think he wants you to tell him that he'sMUCH better, cooler etc. than your ex --- that boosts his confidence !! the other way would hurt him :-)
But it's good that he asks .. it shows that he has interest in your personal feelings, it shows that he wants you to share something with him.

though experience advices me that it's better not to talk the complete truth about your ex .. better not to talk to much about your ex in either way, positive or negative ...

if the relationship between you two wouldn't work out well, he could hurt you with personal things you told him in confidence

He could just be curious,as us girls can be, or he could be a little insecure. Don't weigh too much thought on this if you just are getting to know him. If he continues and you feel uncomfortable, move on before you get anymore attached.

He wants to be with you but asks about your previous partner because he wants to know if he can trust you and be with you without a lot of drama
