I took both but you might want to go with spanish. even though these two languages are similar in some ways (ecspecially the numbers).

I'm a linguistics major and neither language is EASIER than the other unless you already have knowledge of something similar (Italian makes it easier to learn Spanish because there are some similarities). It depends on what you're used to or have been exposed to. But I will say that Spanish is certainly more practical in the United States.

Pig Latin XD
Spanish evolves alot so there is no telling what is going to happen when you take it.
French is more stable (although it does evolve,.. just not to an effect on your learning).
Added: Latin (the dead language) is actually the easiest and best language to take in High School,.. against what people are saying. But you did not give it as a choice. If you took Latin (the dead language) you would actually very easily learn/understand Spanish/French. It's the most relaxed and gives the most leway on mistakes (since noone from ancient times can have a fit if your a little off or haveing a bad day verbally with their language). They seem to like to spend time actting like it's elementary school with crafts to help you learn,.. like drawing a town and lableing things or building something 3D, lableing it,.. and looking at what others built for lables (those stink in your head). Your Arts and Crafts projects can be constant and count greatly to your grade,.. and may only have to be done in class. But Latin wasn't an option and I just wanted to correct people.

I took French, and I like it better than Spanish, but I have to agree with the others... Supposedly, Spanish is easier to learn. And since it will probably end up being our national language one day...

I took both in High School, and while this is from my own personal experience, I found Spanish to be SO MUCH EASIER than French, by a mile!

Spanish, mainly because you'll use it more often in this country.
I took German for 6 years (HS and College), and guess how often I've used it? None. Zero.
My sister took 2 years of Spanish, and guess how often she's used it?
50% of the time she works.
Take Spanish. You're not thinking of the future much at this point, but it's going to put you ahead if you're bilingual, especially in Spanish.

Spanish; take Spanish anyway: most useful (my teacher suggested French, I took it stupidly. Spanish far more useful these days everywhere, online, and especially where I live!)
