I see a solider in uniform and I say thanks. I'm a veteran and I know how taken for granted a lot of soldiers feel. I came home in '75 and we were being called baby killers and spit at. I do not want any other solider feeling that kind of pain. I am in so much shock about the Fort Hood shootings, we should never have to worry about those kind of happenings on our own shores. I'm glad he survived, since he decided that he would do this act wearing traditional Muslim clothing I consider this an act of terrorism, and will be glad to see him serve his time and not be allowed to become a martyr for any reason. I hope he never sees another day in his life that he may walk free on any land let alone ours. In this case I don't want to see him put to death as I do not want the other terrorists to view him as a martyr and give them a single nanosecond of pride in his acts.

I have already sent my card but I recommend that everyone pass this on to friends and family. I too would prefer to thank them at home but now they need it more than ever where they are.
