I want to communicate with Nevada or any other state without pushing power. I want to be able to prove to my fellow CBers that a cb radio can go to distance barefooted or should I say " Plain & simple"; Is it possible from Philadelphia?

Propagation of CB signals (27 MHz) is very dependent on the sunspot cycle. Unfortunately right now, we are at a spot minimum so getting out on 27 MHz is going to be tough. The good news is that this is the best part of the year for getting out. Try from about noon and after if you ant to hit Nevada. Technically working skip on CB is illegal but the whole band is out of control now anyways. Don't expect much skip during the dark hours.

If nobody is on the CB and it's after midnight, and you have 10 to 12 watts from your CB and a power mic, then maybe if you are lucky it will skip and they will hear you.

I don't think you would have any chance with only 4 watts.

don't hold your breath waiting. skip land would most likely be the only way hard to get through though.
