I am very interested to see the responses to this question and to find out if there really are sexual positions that are forbidden by a specific religion. I wouldn't be surprised, but interested none the less...

In the Church's eyes, the marriage (protestant, catholic or whatever...) is still standing: divorce is not a religious process, but a legal one. It would be possible, as long as the previous marriage was annulated. The downside of it is I understand it can take a looooong time to do this!

Well, in the Eastern Orthodox Church, I was raised in, from the early centuries, the Fathers of the church , the ancient saints, writing in Greek & Latin - certainly condemned any fellatio or cunnilingus, anal sex, and any extra-genital contact, as well as masturbation, any licking and touching the anus was condemned. the missionary position was deemed acceptable , but the rear-entry position was deemed a vile approach. couples who indulged excessively in sex without restraint were considered sinful. andof course, couples who wanted to receive the Divine Mysteries of Holy communion must abstain from sex from a full day PRIOR to the Liturgy and then abstain from sex for one full day FOLLOWING the liturgy out of respect for God's holiness. even married sex was considered a defiling lust or contamination of the mind and soul. and would separate man from God's Holy Spirit.

St. augustine considered sex as a "necessary evil required to conceive children - but an evil, nonetheless. " St. Ambrose , who was Augustine's teacher, wrote that "married couples ought rightfully to be ashamed of themselves before God and man, for that vile and filthy state in which they live."

If I gave a good answer - thanks for a good rating.

I don't think position should be an issue.Sodomy in the act would be a more suitable issue to confront.

The sin of sodomy is backed up by scripture.

Nothing is forbidden as long as it harms no one (including me). :) Pagans tend to be quite sexually open-minded. The Divine gave us pleasure. Why waste it?

It's mostly the ones that require you actually be in a church when you're doing them.
