Look at the tags on your clothes, appliance, electronics, etc., etc. and chances are they are made in China, Indonesia, Malysia, and other such countries where Christians are badly persecuted.

Does the purchasing of such products supply the persecutors with money to continue their repression?

Should Christians not buy products from such countries? (Which is not easy - just look at the labels at WalMart.)

Have you read the book comsumers rule.
If you don't like the abuse in slaughter houses, don't eat meat.
If you don't like the drug lords ruining the world don't buy drugs.
Everytime you buy something from a country that persacutes Christians you are enableing them to have the funds to do worse.
When you refuse to buy from them because they persacute christians, it will stop. If you don't want jobs sent over seas, buy clothes made in the USA. Even if you have to pay a little more or look harder for the clothes. You are benefiting your own country not strengtening foreign countries who may be the next terriorists.
Much of the money to help terriorists comes from the sale of drugs. So when you take drugs you not only kill yourself you kill everyone who means anything to you. It isn't easy to do but as Al Gore said, "We can do something wether it is the enviroment or our selves or our familys security. Buy only if made in the USA
Only if it doesn't hurt the enviroment. Consumers rule the world if and when they figure that out, that we can all do something just by the products we buy. Eat Salmon grown on farms to eat.
Cat fish farms made just for that purpose. clothes, appliances, bedding and everything else from cars to windows. Shop locally as much as you can. We can make a difference.

Not being able to impose their views on government and society in general makes some (certainly not all) feel like they are being persecuted. Just look at the 'War on Christmas'. This was an example of some right wingers claiming that by saying 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas' your were somehow disrepecting Christianity. These people literally got offended by people using a greeting that included everyones religion. They wanted everyone to exclude every religion except Christianity or else they felt persecuted. Of course this an extreme example, most Christians are not this far out. But still, this goes to show that some feel like being treated like everyone else is persecution.

China has a abnoxious human rights record, they persecute Christians or any religion that worships God.. Only recently they let communities build churchs with their own hard earned money and when they finished they sent in the buldozers and wrecked them in front of crying people.. In the past they would try and prevent the world from seeing this but with all the camera phones they could'nt. It was shown on tv's around the globe to their utter embarrasment.. They could'nt hide their filty lies this time.. Long live Democracy.. And yes mabe we shoul'nt purchase anything from them but it would also hurt the poor people as they earn a living from making the products we buy..

I want to preface this by saying that while this answer COULD be interpreted as being flippant and snide, it is not meant to be. It is my genuine answer.

If Christians did boycott products made in countries where Christianity was persecuted, they'd end up having to live like the Menonites. This could be a good thing -- as the recent shool shooting in the Menonite community showed by the Menonite's reaction (they were going to the shooter's home with food for his family and forgave him immediately!!! That takes COURAGE and HUMILITY!), these are Christian peoples who truly know, love, and follow Christianity and Christ to the full. No other Christian group I know does so 'to the full'.

You have a very good point. What disturbs me is most of the shoes on the shelves we pay $50 - 150 for are made by children working 12 hours a day for $.25 an hour, with no rights to appeal to.

The problem is that one would have to boycott so much of the products available to us, there wouldn't be much left we could buy. We live in a global economy and its evils of consumerism and capitalism are inescapable.

edit: screw the long answer. One of two things is true. Either the people for whom you would boycott those countries are personally doing charitable work ONLY and being personally punished, OR they are missionaries and selling a religion and some group or other is 'politely' (not personally violent) but firmly saying "thanks but no thanks". Personally, I suspect it's sales people that some group in each country does not want selling their wares (religion). If it's the former and people are suffering, yes, a boycott makes perfect sense. If you're just standing up for any group's right to push their religion, I say you're wasting your time. Most of us have had to say 'no' to an overly insistent salesman from time to time and it's no fun and nobody really sympathizes with the aggressive salesman.

I would not be so concerned with persecution as I would labor laws especially regarding children and women.

Besides, have you ever looked at an "Oriental Trading" catalog? It is loaded with "Jesus" witness.

Not every person in every country hates christians..
I am a muslim and I realize not every westerner hates muslims... In fact there are many Muslims that are citizens of western countries... .. There are many christians who are making those clothes you talk about and some are not persecuted.. Dont allow the media to bias your mind...

That's a riduculous notion. Our economies are so dependent on one another, that if you thought that Christians shouldn't support economies that persecute Christians, then you would be saying the only Christian thing to do would be to facilitate a global economic collapse which would create more poor and if its one thing we know about our good buddy Jesus, is that he was all about helping out the poor.
