mandi, maybe you could contact the rescue shelter and see if they had problems with her diet and eating if they did ask them for some advice and what she ate when she was in there . if this fails to work you could try putting food directly into her mouth and see if she gets the taste for it .as a last resort you should take her to see the vet just incase she might have some thing that is wrong with her .it could possible the fact of a new environment that is upsetting her and very stressful for her. heres hoping she eats soon and there is nothing wrong with her. xx

She may be much younger and is in need of more affection and attention. Your boyfriend is cruel. Might want to think about this relationship. Keep the kitten comfortably warm. Feed canned cat food 4 times a day. Kittens tummies can't hold much so they need to eat more often. If this kitten was abandoned or did not stay with it's more for 8 weeks, it may need kitten replacement formula which can be purchased at Walmart or a pet store. Play with the kitten and hold it often. It just may be needy and will outgrow it as it matures. If the crying continues, you should consider having a vet examine it and start it's vaccinations and set up an appointment for spaying at the correct age. Thank you for caring about this kitty.

Is she drinking? If so, you could try some soggy weetbix with some cat milk. Make it quite milky but she will pick up bits of the weetbix. Otherwise put a raw egg in with some cat milk. At least then she'll get some protein. I did have a problem with a kitten eating a few years ago but I discovered that she'd eat sardines. Cooked chicken also worked well. If the problem still continues, maybe you should contact the shelter again and see what they were feeding her. Hope she's better soon.

Firstly make a vet appointment,
In the mean time, try different foods she may take to, do not give her cows milk, it will give her diarrhoeria, buy special kitten milk, get special kitten food, and leave the dry food out for now, if none of that works, try a small piece of chicken, or cheese, if none works then i think this kitten has a health problem, she may have been taken from her mother to soon and feeding her food as a kitten has damaged her delicate insides.
I hope this helps and she gets better.

Mandi, this might be stating the obvious, but can you perhaps either take her back to the shelter or ring them, to find out if her eating was a problem for them? If it wasn't then they might know of any possible reason she is off her food. The only other option is to ring your local vet (they will probably suggest bringing her in), but meantime might give you advice over the phone. Hope you get some peace of mind, poor little thing is probably distressed and needs to get used to her new environment.

TENDER LOVE and CARE!! TLC TLC TLC!!!
I am not sayin you do not give enough to your cat, but as you said you got her from a Rescue Shelter? This must have been a hard time for your kitten, being so young, so i suggest you just play with your kitten, buy her some new toys, keep her warm, play with her every chance you can. Studies prove that playing with your pet even releases stress!
So a bit of love and she should start eaten bits of food!

At the risk of repeating a lot of advice - you really have to get her to a vet as soon as you can. A kitten can go downhill very fast if not getting any food. I hope she is drinking at least as she won't survive long without water. No human food and no milk are wise advice.
I hope you can afford a vet. I'm not sure of current situation but the PDSA used to run animal surgeries for people on low income.
But please please take her - a vet's fee is nothing compared to a healthy young kitten who will reward you a million times over with her love.

You might want to ring the shelter and ask them what they fed your baby. How they fed her, what time they fed her, where they fed her. Try to keep it as similar to the shelter as possible. It is probably just the stress of a new home and owner.
or
Try giving her some strained meat baby food (without onion added). Often cats will eat baby food before they will eat anything else.
or
Take her to the vet. Depending on how long she has not been eating she may need an appetite stimulant, like Cyproheptadine. Just keep an eye on her fluid intake as she may become dehydrated quickly.
Hope she sorts herself out soon...new pets can be stressful lol **I still wake in the middle of the night to check my dog, Roxy, is still breathing and warm enough**

call the shelter and find out what KIND of food she was eating there.. if possible pick up a small bag from them... it could be the food you are giving her is so different she doesnt realize its food...
chicken and rice mush is the better canned to feed (only a teaspoon a time) you can rub some on her nose or even put some on your finger and directly into her mouth... this will make her lick it and encourage eating
NO HUMAN FOOD!!! NO MILK!!!

Try putting little bit of tuna water from the can on her food. If that doesn't work you might want to take her to the vet. You also maybe giving her food that she doesn't like. Ask the shelter what they fed her and if they had the same problem.
