I have to be honest here. As a man I feel extremely unattractive and unwanted if my partner says she doesn't want sex. I personally think that it is true: a man does need to have sex to feel loved.
This is not, however, an excuse for men to use to bribe women to have sex with them. If the man truly loves the woman, he wouldn't try to pressure her.

Well you cant stereotype the sexes like that, it depends on the person. If a wife thinks that sex and love can exist without each other then she should have no problem having sex whether she feels loved or not. I also think that sex and love are different and I really love sex so I'm always up for it. If our relationship isn't going well (which is most of the time), in my mind I separate the relationship from the sex because the sex is basically an act where we both get ours. And Im sure there are enlightened men out there who see other things besides sex as a show of love. For other couples who are in this 'deadlock' you describe, I guess the best thing is to keep the lines of communication open. Thats all I got.

Men are wired so much different than women. A man's way of thinking is more simple than we think. When a woman has a desire for affection (touching, making love, massages, compliments), she may have another reason other than physical need such as having the need to be wanted by the person she is with. A man wants to touch, have sex just because he wants to touch and have sex!...lol. I am not saying men don't have emotional triggers or feelings but it usually doesn't work that way. He may have attempted to have sex with you to say he was sorry and he wanted to make up. I doubt if it had anything to do with him wanting to be loved.

For the most part of what I have found you are correct most woman need to feel wanted appreciated etc....we typically do not leap into bed after something upsetting us while men on the other hand I found can turn off the world and want sex. They think totally different than us. I have not found a REAL man a mature man that needed sex to feel loved or wanted.

I know what you mean. I don't feel like it when they have been an *** all day or if they were rude shortly before bed time. They just need sex because they are horny.

Sex is a maturaty thing, it really depends on the age. The older you get the less important sex becomes to stronghold a relationship. (but its still great), what I mean is you can connect with your partner on many other levels beside the horizontal one.
