my son keeps breaking out with his buttons on his jeans... could this be an allergic reaction to metal?

It might be that he is allergic to cheap metal. Try coating the button with clear nail polish every few washes. or buy jeans that are just elastic.

Yes, there could be a coating in the alloy used to make those buttons causing the reaction. Usually the problem is with jewelry though: I've never heard of it with buttons before.

Even easier solution. Put medical tape on the inside of the pants where the button touches his skin.

Hi there,

Yes your son has allergy problems but there is an easy solution.

My eldest daughter had the same problem so i painted the buttons with clear nail polish. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Now i also paint the back of her watch so she can wear it and also other jewellery items.

Good Luck
