Women do not want to have to touch the toilet seat.
My Hubby of 38 years almost always puts it down. Only one time can I remember, middle of the night and boy was that water cold. Yikes.
I recently saw on Oprah, Dr. Oz actually said we should all close the lid to flush, as water particles spray out in the air a few feet from the toilet Spreading bacteria.
I Had never ever heard of that before.

There are 6 people in my house. 4 males, 2 females. It is polite to put the seat and lid down.
Plus we have a cat that acts like a dog and she will drink out of the toilet. Disgusting

I absolutely disagree. As an adult man, it is presumed that you've been courteous enough to use the facilities in the proper form. Please, for the LOVE OF GOD, return the seat to its original position. As a woman, the last thing I want to do is come in the bathroom and have to put down the seat.

Honestly it is better if you are in a house with woman to put the seat down. Not that we like to nag or anything, but if we are in a hurry to pee and we drop draws and sit we can actually fall in!!!! Embarrassingly enough I have done it a couple of time's YUCK!!!!
With that being said if you tinkle a little just wipe it up, and ur done.

I don't know why you just can't leave it up. At least your keeping the seat dry. For the woman to insist on us lowering the seat when there is nothing wrong with their arms and hands is absolutely ludicrous.

When I was in college, the girls and guys in my group had an agreement. If a guy used the bathroom at a girl's house (dorm, apartment,etc.) he would put the lid down. Likewise, a girl would put the lid back up at a guy's house.

Ladies, men do their best to please you, but it should be a two-way street. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're big girls. Look before you sit. If it's up, put it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. You don't want to touch it, but you insist that we do. Where is the equality and mutual consideration in that?

You put the seat down...then when a woman goes to use it she doesn't fall in. My boyfriend does this to me all the time and I am always getting on him about it.

To put the seat and lid (if there is one) down and make sure to wipe up any "drips" and flush. Don't forget to wash your hands.
