I know that bio Steel armor is based on using a compound similar to that of spider webs and it is being mass produced by causing goats to produce milk containing the same substances. Also, that this advancement is being used currently to coat kevlar making it even stronger and resistant to stab attacks. Many soldiers can tell you that the body armor being used in Iraq is offers inadequate protection and is heavy. Supposedly this Bio Steel Armor is 4 times stronger than kevlar and much lighter. This could save hundreds of lives. When will this be available and how can someone get it?

To my knowledge, the best of body armor will not be produced for another twenty years. That liquid body armor crap seems to be whats hot right now. It still needs another 15 years of testing and production.

While this is an old article it is still valid as the problem has NOT been fixed. Soldiers have to buy their own body armor because the majority of all war funding that is passed goes to pay the massive contracts to private militias ( etc..) our government has in Iraq. It goes to the contracts for rebuilding Iraq, for the contracts that provide our military with subpar basic necessities in Iraq, water, food, etc. It does not actually go to the troops or to providing adequate equipment. "Support the troops" is a misleading phrase to stop people from questioning where the money is going, question their patriotism and get them to shut up and blindly support the war.
