And if I was going to add a can of pumpkin, how much should I use?

I know, I'm really hesitant to add the pumpkin cause I don't want the brownies to be ruined.

Well, I found plenty of recipes for pumpkin brownies... must be other people that think it's tasty. Try adding the whole can but reduce your mix by one egg.

Pumpkin is pretty mild, really. Unless you're using pumpkin pie filling of course. I wouldn't add more than 1 cup to a standard pan and I'd reduce the liquids by 1/2, and possibly the shortening by 1/2 as well.

If you want to add more fiber, however, I suggest going with oat bran. Now THAT makes a great brownie, seriously.

Actually, that sounds really good ! The pumpkin will add more moisture, though. Pumpkin on its own has a very mild flavor, if any.

Make a batch of chocolate brownies, and a batch of pumpkin. OR a batch of pumpkin WITH chocolate chips! YUM!

I think it sounds great! I would only put half of the can in though. You do not want to overwhelm the brownie mixture too much. I bet it is really creamy this way. Let us know!

Arrg. Why would you want to ruin perfectly good brownies like that? Can't you find fiber elsewhere?
