During the Civil War there was a group that formed in congress that were called the "Radical Republicans". They were SO mad at the South for starting the war and hurting the country.

They wanted to punish the South harshly, but Lincoln wanted to rebuild both the physical damage and the relationships between the North and the South.

When Lincoln ran for re-election, he chose a new running partner--a Southerner from Tennessee named Andrew Johnson (NOT Andrew Jackson). Johnson was a believer in the North, but had sympathy for the South.

He was a weak man, but it was a gesture that Lincoln believed would pay off.

Eight days after Lincoln was re elected, Lincoln was shot dead. Andrew Johnson became president. The Radical Republicans bulldozed over him and forced through legislation that was harsh and reprehensible to Southern sensibilities.

Eventually the South fought back in a vigilante way--the KKK. It is still the hideous reactionary organization that it has ever been. Its roots lie in the "reconstruction" of the South by the North.

Perhaps we can pull the same thing off in Iraq? Backlash is always a powerful thing.

The first link is to information about reconstruction.

The second link is to information about a movie made in 1915 by Southerners. It is believed to be the first full-length motion picture. It actually tries to justify why white people have the right and responsibility to fight and control African Americans. It is a facinating movie--everybody NEEDS to see this movie to understand the roots of American racism. It is unbelievably off the charts as far as being politically incorrect, but it is a must see.

The Bible teaches that we are all 1 race, that is, the human race. The only restriction the Bible places on mixing is when a believer and non-beleiver come together. There is nothing in the Bible to teach otherwise.

Evolution teaches that the different races are simply different levels of evolutionary deveopment. So, my guess is that the KKK has bought into the evolutionary doctrine that the different races are simply at different levels of development, and should not mix.

I'll stick with the Biblical teaching, and say that we are all the same race. Maybe we should start calling them "people groups" instead of races.

I don't know but I know that even white supremacy groups recognize the KKK as a bunch of babbling, unorganized buffoons. They get no respect in mainstream racist White America. It's all about the white nationalists now. They think that blacks are subhuman..lol..lol..lol..Sorry, I just thought that was funny. And they are afraid of the extinction of the white race, which is so dumb considering that in the U.S. alone, as of the last Census, white non-Hispanics make up over 80% of the population.

Just from their own self proclamation of supremacy. Racism is totally uncalled for in this time and era, (but then back then also). If the Creator wanted a superior race he would of made us all white or black or hispanic....... The superior race is the HUMAN RACE. Peace and love be with you.

God created one race, the human race. Darwin created the others. The KKK must believe Darwin over God.

The don't necessarily follow the Bible. They feel there is one superior race - whites - and there should be no sullying of the superior bloodlines. This concept is based on nothing more than their own whacked out ideas.

Their own racism. Thats what the KKK was about, white supremecy. You cant have white supremecy if there are no true whites because everyone has mixed.
