He goes in his litter box, then hops out and tries to cover it from the floor. Then he hops back in, smells that it is not covered, hops back out and moves his little paws on the floor trying again. I have put him back in and moved his paws for him, but to no avail.
I end up having to cover it up.

It comes with instinct and I am positive that it will soon be annoying you with more digging in the litter box than you ever could have hoped for.

Good luck!

Merry Christmas.

often a kitten be taught lavatory skills from their mom, so perhaps this kitten did not because of the fact she replaced into taken away a approaches too early. yet then lower back, not all cats cover their droppings. My theory is that she would be waiting to do it is going to easily because of the fact she would be waiting to work out your different cats while they do their business enterprise, and she or he might reproduction of them. attempt to not tension her at this factor, you in undemanding terms threat putting her off so she wont use the tray, yet circulate someplace else. the undeniable fact that she tries to flee is an illustration of stress. basically permit her circulate the way she is accustomed to how, this is fairly not a brilliant deal. you basically get rid of the droppings from the muddle tray each and every time she is going, that way she consistently has a clean tray and could be satisfied to circulate there while she needs to.

You don't. They learn this from mom cat when they are very young. If he hasn't figured it out yet, he probably won't (unless he's just 8 or 9 weeks old - MAYBE it will happen eventually). If you can't stand the smell, scoop the waste right away.

Get a self cleaning litter box. They are much nicer and your cats will love you for it.

I would suggest having your cat spend time with other cats. When he sees how the other cats are doing it, and does it once or twice in their box, I think he will start doing it.
