This is not a slur on Christians or Americans in specific, but it seems so full of contridictions - get rich quick schemes, hatred and little tollerance of people who aren't white or straight... I don't get it, please show me the light!

Too many hypocrites, not enough true Christians.

A true Christian will not be part of a "get rich quick" scheme. A true Christian will not be full of hate and little tolerance.

Remember, a TRUE Christian is someone who is following Christ's example, and is being most Christ-like. If you read about Jesus Christ in the New Testament, you will see that none of these things are part of Him. If they are doing any of the above things that you listed, then they are NOT Christians no matter what they say. "BEING" a Christian and "SAYING" you are a Christian are two different things. This is truly a case where actions speak louder than words. I find it amazing how someone can say they are a Christian and then go to the club or a bar or a strip club on the weekend and jump in the sack with a total stranger, and then go to church on Sunday thinking the fact that they went to church makes them a Christian. Amazing!

Do you really think that only Christians are into "get rich quick schemes, hatred and little tolerance"? These are faults of society in general.
I don't put my faith in man because I will be disappointed everytime.
I put my faith in Jesus. He is the Light of the world.
He says I should love others. When I understand that I should love people as I am loved by Jesus then things change.

Living in the 'bible belt', I think the problem is that many churches find justifications for preaching and practising the opposite of what Jesus said to do. For example. the bigotry is justified by quoting Leviticus or Paul, never Jesus, because Jesus is not known to have said homophobic things.
If the churches would return to Jesus, there would be a great improvement.

I think you are wrong. Are you saying that there are no black or gay Christians? There are hypocrites in every little section of society. There are Republicans who believe in abortion. There are Democrats who are filthy rich. There are Christians who commit crimes. There are blacks that hate whites. I could go on and on. It's people. Some live life fairly and others don't. We are all sinners. Hopefully a Christian will be true to themselves and God and repent of the sin and turn away from it, never repeating it again. I think this applies to the world and not just America.

Too many people are out defending their religions rather than helping the poor and downtrodden.

Christians are too busy defending the bible and shooting down Evolution and Homosexuality, rather than doing what Jesus told them and getting along with all different types of people.

I think the one thing wrong with Christianity today is that more people aren't getting fooled by the churches, so those churches are going to greater and more ostentatious lengths to get people back inside.

It's all about the money, and none of the love.

Too many people calling themselves Christian are talking the talk,and not walking the walk.They need to quit meddling in the world,and put their eyes on the lord.They are supposed to be the salt of the earth,but their blending in with the crowd and getting lost.
Too many pastor's these days are teaching cotton candy Christianity and bowing down to the world's demands instead of telling it like it is,and taking a stand for the lord.

America runs on money and there are always people who will want to cash in. We are also a land that values the free word, and that means that people's bigotry will always be heard.

Also, I think you're multiplying the problem. I live in a tiny Christian community, but most of my friends are pagan. I have never seen the hatered you are discribing from the small town Christians here, and that is where you'd think the fear and bigotry would foster.

American Christianity HAS DEPARTED from the Precepts of Holy Scripture, and become "Church-e-an-ity!"

MANY of the so-called preachers, HAVE NOT ATTENDED BIBLE SCHOOL -or- Seminary!

Would you trust your Pharmacist = who Did Not Graduate and take the State Board Tests and Pass? NOT!

MANY of them Do not Know, nor how to find out the Meaning of Words in Greek [NT] or Hebrew [OT].

IT IS WRITTEN...

(2Timothy 4:3-4) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
(2Tim 4:4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT OBEY.... 2Timothy 4:1-2!

Thanks, RR

There are mu;tiple 'tests' given to Christians (especially here in the USA presently), and they (majority sense) are not passing them.
1. To my curerent knowledge, there are 7 deviations from God's word.
Example; the old testament;
defining old testament as Genesis-Malachi violates 2 Tim. 3:16-17. (Were the pain of child birth (Gen. 3), the rainbow (Gen.9), multiple languages Gen 11, etc, done away with when Christ died on the cross? (The scriptural old testament was done away then).
If one wants more info; I can be emailed currently.
May you receive today a pleasant surprise!!!
