I am not a fan of Rush but he made me think, and he made me mad. and I actually agree with him this time. Here's what he said " I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the sept. 11th casualty and those who die serving our country in r profound. no one is really talking about it either, because you just dont criticize anything having to do with sept 11th. well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. if you lost a family member in the sept.11th attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185.00. the range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million. If you are a surviving family member of an american soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable. Next you get $1,750 for burial costs. if you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. and theres a payment of $211 per

month for each child under 18. when the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt. keep in mind that some people are getting $1.185 million up to $4.7million are complaining that its not enough. their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US. we also learned that some of the victims from Oklahoma city bombing have organized asking for the same deal that the sept.11th families are getting. in addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well. u c where this is going, dont u? folks? every time a pay raise comes up 4 the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low rent housing. make sense? then congress voted themselves a raise.

many of you dont know that they only have to be in congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. and most are now equal to being millionaires plus. they do not receive social sec. on retirement because they didnt have to pay into the system. if some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harms way receive a pension of $15,000 per month! I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.

O.k. I have to agree, but a small disagreement. The families that did get the benefits include families of Police and Firemen that do put their lives on the line for the public. But as for the under appreciation of the military by our countries congress it's true. For 2007 military will get a 2.3% pay rais. Congress voted for a 30% payraise. Members of congress are millionares, espcialy the democrats that say they are for the working man. Last time I looked no member of congress has ever had a minimum wage job, or struggled to put food on the table, or had to struggle to pay bills. Look at the pay for our military and can you compare what they do to what a normal worker does? Sure if you work in the serice sector you might be yelled at by a disgruntled customer, but do you have to leave your family for months at a time, dodge bullets, or bombs just to get back to a safe place to sleep? The military should be more appreciated and better compensated.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 9/11 AND SOLDIERS IS THAT THE VICTIMS WERE CIVILIANS GOING TO WORK. THEY WERE NOT LOOKING TO BE INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF VIOLENCE THAT COULD TAKE THEIR LIFE.

SOLDIERS VOLUNTEER TO FIGHT AND THE CHANCES ARE THAT IF YOU GO TO WAR YOU COULD DIE. THAT'S THE CHANCES THEY TAKE WHEN THEY VOLUNTEER.

HE AND YOU ARE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES.
YOU SAY MENTALITY OF ENTITLEMENT HOW ARE THE WIDOWS OF THE 9/11 VICTIMS SUPPOSED TO CONTINUE THEIR LIVES IF THE MAIN BREAD WINNER IS DEAD DUE TO A LACK OF SECURITY ON THE GOVERNMENT AND THE AIRLINES SIDE ?
THE VICTIMS DESERVE EVERYTHING THEY GET.

AT LEAST THEY ARE NOT SQUEEZING THE GOVT. LIKE THE KATRINA SO CALLED VICTIMS. A REPORT RELEASED YESTERDAY SAYS THAT THE KATRINA FRAUD HAS REACHED 1 BILLION.

He has a good point, yes, but those who died on Sept. 11th also were employed and most had insurance. I'm not knocking any of them or trying to say they do not deserve it, but most of the families got some compensation from life insurances...those that had none, I dunno...
As for our soldiers, well, any that are in the military now aren't in it for the money...that should tell you something about their determination and bravery to still wanna go in. I admire them for that. There families should be given whatever we can give them.

Wishful thinking...I know, but its my opinion.

Rush seems to always be right.
If you listen to him for just one week, you will be hooked.
Many of his fans, used to be silly little liberals.
Over 20 million people a day tune in and listen to at least part of his broadcast.
The Democrat Party has hundreds of staffers paid to listen to him. They want to find out what's going on in the country.

i agree with rush about 70% of the time and i'm glad what he said made you think. our value system is royally screwed up and the people who deserve the most pay generally make the least. (soldiers, teachers, firemen and police)

If you would listen to him more often, you will probably find that he makes a lot of sense, and actually uses his brain to think things out, instead of just having knee-jerk reactions like his detractors do.

Excellent, yes, Rush makes me mad all the time, however, he is right most of the time. No denying that and he DOES make you think! He's not just spewing hate and discontent like Al Franken and the rest of the Air America crew.
