Relax. There is no law that says you have to call everyday. If at the end of a phone call you usually say, I'll talk to you tomorrow, change that to I'll call as soon as I can. Tell her not to hang around waiting for your call if you are fairly sure you'll be busy. Good luck.

talk to each other when you do have time! There is no reason you have to talk every day, and if she "expects" that then maybe she needs to re-examine her expectations.
