First, let me say that this is not the ideal place to be asking for spiritual guidance.Having said that,I used to be a Catholic but could see no sense in all the rituals and all the hypocrisy.I was fortunate enough to come across the Witnesses and sat in on someone else's study and couldnt wait to have my own. Why?Because this is the only religion that has a thorough understanding of the Bible.Any questions you ask,are answered from the Scriptures. It's just the best feeling to finally get answers and not only answers but the right answers.
There is nothing to be hesitant about. If you are a male, two brothers will come to your house, with Bibles and a Bible study aide, probably a publication entitled."What does the Bible really teach?"Likewise,if you are female, two sister will come.If you dont mind they will say a short prayer to Jehovah asking for his blessing. Then the three of you will take turns in reading paragraphs out of the book. The brother will ask a question listed in the book relating to the paragraph just read. You answer.Listed scriptures are looked up in the Bible.Study ends with another prayer. And will probably last one hour or whatever sutis you.The brothers will arange to come maybe the same time next week,or whatever suits you.And if you ever feel you dont want to continue for whatever reason, there is no obligation. The brothers will be concerned of course, but dont feel that you have to.You can also ask the borthers anything you are not sure of,Beleive me it will be the best thing you ever done.
I have been baptized for eight years now and I thank Jehovah every day for the wonderful opportunity He gave me.All the best to you

different religions are puzzled to the place they are going to stay fprever. First they say that they are going to stay in heaven continually, yet then they interpret Rev. 21:2 as being literal the place it says " and that i observed the recent Jerusalem coming down of heaven from God and arranged as a bride embellished for her husband." The apostle John became into asserting this words on a similar time as having a innovative and prescient on earth. So the question is, the place are they going to spend eternity in heaven or on earth ? on the different hand the Bible speaks approximately one hundred forty four,000 chosen ones that wil rule with Jesus for 1000 years. Who will they rule over ? Matthew 5:5 says "happy are the fundamental-tempered ones, considering they're going to inherit the earth". And Matthew 6:10 says " enable your kingdom come. enable your will ensue,as in heaven, additionally upon earth." additionally examine Psalms 37:10,11,29.

Yes, They study by subjects, looking up all the scriptures that pertain to that subject.

This way the bible interprets itself.

They don't pick one verse that agrees with their ideas, and ignore the rest.

They go back to the original language and verify the translation they are using.

They go back to the definitions of the old English to understand why the KJV says one word, but modern language bibles say something else.

They will not make you become a witness.
They will encourage you to act on what you've learned, but the final decision has to be yours.

YOu can expect that :
1) anything you are uncertain of, they will try to find you a Biblical answer.
2) you can expect to learn God's name, Jehovah , and about him.
3) you can expect to become good friend's with those that study with you..
4) you can expect to learn very much, very fast and in practically no time you will know much more about the Bible than you did before.

You can expect the truth. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses so if you have any concerns feel free to e-mail me. And just a warning, when you ask questions on this thing about Jehovah's Witnesses you tend to get a lot of negative people. Just be careful, and don't listen to them. Good luck with your study. Believe me, you are with the right people. :)

I have not but I was told by a family who converted from Baptist to Jehovah's Witness that JWs study the Bible more extensively. I'm not sure about that, it may be true or it may be something they tell you in order to conver you. Tricky...

I have, and you can expect a pretty good and nice debate with them. The ones I talked with were SO patient, over months of time, in going over scripture, etc with me. They let me use my own bible, and I will tell you, it challenged me like nothing else in a long time. They even brought out their interlinear bibles for me, and gave me books, etc, to help me. This, in the end, could have been tempting to look more into that religion, as they are good people, that have studied, etc. I, however, was strengthened in my christian beliefs, but we all remained friends up until I moved. They were SO caring. But I don't believe they have the full truth. A couple years later, I got my own interlinear bible, so I could study on my own. I have learned a lot, but have become a stronger Christian for it.

Yea. They are different but it's a good different. If you believe in the Bible and you open up your heart you will see exactly why they are different. Oh and don't buy into all the myths/rumors about them. If you hear something and want to know if it's true or not, ask them.
