God is perfect. To him, any sin, be it big or small in our eyes, is equal because it is a deviation from his perfection.

No, they shouldn't. God is a good God, and yes, a sin is a sin. But the consequence for a sin varies, as you know. Being a sinner, is one thing ,as we all are. But all are not child molesters, or killers, or anything. The bible talks about what can happen to people that hurt children, or cause a brother to stumble. Some are rated at a higher level of seriousness than others.

What??? I suggest you read the Old Testament. There you will find the reason for the death penalty. No where in the Bible will you see that there should be death for someone that steals.
The term "an eye for an eye" is so often misnderstood by those who don't inderstand the Bible. That phrase came from verses where guidance is given to JUDGES as to what a person's punishment should be. It's not up to just anyone to decide the "eye for an eye" thingy... only a judge. (or a jury I suppose).
In other words, if someone pokes your eye out, you shouldn't poke their eye out in return.. you should take them to court, and the judge's decision should be that that person should also lose their eye. That is a hypothetical example.
The principle of justice that requires punishment equal in kind to the offense (not greater than the offense, as was frequently given in ancient times). Thus, if someone puts out another's eye, one of the offender's eyes should be put out. The principle is stated in the Book of Exodus as “Thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”

I think you missed the point. I am by no means an expert, but I am sure with all that Catholic School I went to I don't remember Killing People. I think Confession, Repent, Forgivness. Those ring a bell. Talk to your Preist or whatever, I think you may need something more than a yahoo group to get your morals back on track. Good Luck!

I don't believe in the death penalty because if they have life in prison they have a chance of accepting Jesus as their personal Savior and still go to heaven. Remember the "bad guy" still has a soul that needs saving.

The Green River killer and BTK might need a nice warm bed to sleep in. Do you have a spare bedroom?

YOUR "IF" Statement IS INCORRECT....!
(Luke 12:47-o-to-49) And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
(Luke 12:48) But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
(Luke 12:49) I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
BE CORRECTED....!
Thanks, RR
