Well, if you worship another God you wouldn't beleive in the commandments. To worship no Gods is fine as long as you feel comfortable. You need to do some research on other religions if you feel like switching. The best advice is to find what you feel comfortable with and what you honestly beleive. If you feel like the religion you choose is not working for you, try to find something you can live with.

Since I'm an atheist, myself, I believe it is better to not worship any of those mythical deities. I make it a point of breaking a few of the 10 Commandments daily. They really don't apply to this society.

I think if you define what worship is in your life then you will define what God you worship. So if you put yourself above everything and everyone then you make yourself a god intern your worshiping yourself. If God showed himself to you then of course you would believe in God, in most cases people have blind faith they believe without seeing. If you know the truth and go aginst it whatever religion you are then you sin.

It depends on whether someone has heard the gospel of Jesus or not. If they haven't then God will judge accordingly. The bible says we have an innate knowing of right and wrong.

If one has heard the gospel and rejected it then worshipping another god or no god is the same and one would be judged by their works and have sin on them. When one is saved all of their sin is forgiven.

Umm, did you read what you wrote? If you believe in God, then you know the answer to your own question. If you don't believe in God and the Ten Commandments, then there really isn't a question.

Go where ever you happen to find inner peace.

What is a god and what is not? If you follow the thoughts of someone else without thinking for yourself, it is always a bad thing. Even if the end result would be good, it is purely happenstance. If, on the other hand, you think for yourself and act accordingly, without hurting anyone else, the god that happens to stand in front of you for the moment is probably as good a comfort as the next one.

The question would be very difficult to do; man is as a god.
So would not 'Ii think...' border on idolatry (worship a false god (self)'?

Well, if you worship "another god", it's rare indeed that you believe said commandments apply to you (namely, the third).
