Wait for it: "We are all flawed but because he has repented he will be forgiven"; "Ted Haggard wasn't a TRUE Christian."; "What he did doesn't change the truth of the message he preached"; "Haven't you ever said something stupid while you were drunk?" (Oh wait, that was the other one.) Shooting fish, my friend, shooting fish...

Ted Haggard is a typical Christian, with all the same moral shackles, conflicting urges, and lies to cover the truth.
In other words, Ted could simply be the person he's always felt he was if he didn't have the overwhelming burden of Christianity telling him how wrong he is.
Christians insist that being gay is unholy, unnatural, and can be "cured" like any disease. So if God chose not to magically help one of his most faithful disciples, a man who founded a church with over 14,000 members, then how can anyone logically expect to be "cured" of the "gay disease?"
The instant response by Christians is that Ted Haggard is such a strong Christian that God made him gay as a "test." Pastor Haggard is obviously stronger in his faith than in his gay urges, right?
Why would a so-called "loving" God pick out a good person to TORMENT? If God didn't turn Haggard gay, and all the piety, prayers and brainwashing didn't force him to be straight, then God AND Christianity failed in either case.

Christians are NOT perfect human beings. To quote my professor, "even after we are saved we are still shitholes". Ted Haggard is a shithole, and so is everyone else. Becoming a Christian doesn't mean you suddenly become a great person in the world's eyes. It just means you are covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, and when God looks at us, he sees Jesus' perfectness and sinlessness.

He will suffer greatly for his sins, so will his innocent family and so did his ministry and everyone he has preached to in his life. Ted Haggard has unfortunatly fallen into the traps of lust and that is one of the worst places to be. My prayers are with him and his family as they climb out of this pit togther. He has a long road ahead of him, so do all the people harmed by his sin.

The only thing Ted feels bad about is getting caught.
All he really ever stood for was lies and intolerance.
To bad this is all that Christianity is any more to many who claim to be Christians.
Love and blessings Don

I think that the church he leads has already forgiven him. And he has made so much money that he can laugh he was thru any rehab package. The problem with the Religious Right is that they will overlook anything as long as the person mounths the right stuff.

The reason you hate him so much is probably because he reminds you so much of yourself......amazing how God works to chastise the hypocrites>
Nevertheless the Word of God stays true....so get over it .
"Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, NOR HOMOSEXUALS.....shall inherit the kingdom of God" ...... And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God". (I Corin. 6:9-11)
You can be set free from this demonic sin through the power of Jesus Christ. Many homosexuals have been completely set free to live a holy life through the power of Jesus Christ
