Alcoholic Drinks terms?

Question

I know what a screwdriver is and made of, and so to a bloody mary, but what is sex on the beach made of? What is a cocktail?
Help me out here when I approcah the bar at my staff party - give me the names of some of the popular drinks served including their names and ingriedients. I am from the caribbean.

If you are not a big drinker but what to order something at the bar, you can always go for something not too stong. A personaly favoriate of mine is a malabu baybreeze. It has conconut rum, cranberry & pinapple juice. Its sweet but good and an easy drink to go down.

I also like cosmos but they are a stronger tasting drink.

Flavored martinis (apple martini) are good

You can also always get wine, white zinfadel is a good starter wine.

hey it's OK to ask a bartender what's in a drink. They usually don't mind. You could even ask a good bartender to reccomend something if you can give him or her some idea of what your after be it fruity, creamy or a certain liquor that you like to taste.
A general interest and willingness to discuss these things with the bartenders and fellow patrons will help you in leaps and bounds learn the ropes!

A cocktail is just another name for a mixed drink. Some popular dinks are cosmopolitans which are vodka, lime and cranberry ... appletinis are popular too .. vodka and sour apple pucker .. as well as mojitos (pronounced mo-hee-toe) which is mint. lime, sugar and rum ....
