The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit will and has been here forever. Religion will surly die once we are in the Kingdom of God. Religion is based on mans understanding. There was no religion before sin and there will be no need for it after sin. Even NOW, you can walk with God the way Adam and Eve did before sin. I believe that if you wake up every day and surrender to the Holy Spirit and stay in that state of mind, then you do not need religion. Before you speak, I didn't say fellowship, and Worship. Two or more are a fellowship and worship is a thing between you and God that can be going on all the time. That is not religion either. So surrender your self to The Holy Spirit right this moment and just stay in that state of being. If you feel that somehow the connection gets broken, surrender again. Stay in the anointing, that is your only job. As a child of the living God you need to be prepared for His use.
That takes surrender and not religion.

Hopefully a great change of consciousness will prevail over the established religions.
A consciousness fuelled by compassion, tolerance, reason and responsibility, will supersede the orthodox religion's outlook.
A universal spirituality will replace the dogmatic rhetoric of orthodox religions with a personal connection with God or the universal mind based on personal experience.
In the future I can see that priests become redundant as the lay believers and monks become one.
Churches will be replaced my self-help and support groups like the Buddhist Sangha.
I also believe we can even see the start of this change in consciousness with the emergence of interest in the new age therapies, and interest in Pagan and far eastern philosophies with an increasing concern for our environment.

Hello,

YES! I definately do, religion will still be here in 100 years time "IF" the human race (human species) survives that long.

**Why? because most human beings have a need to believe in something they perceive as a higher power & need to believe in a life or paradise after death.

**I'm a life long atheist and personally I think organised religions are the most carzy things humans ever invented. Religions have been the biggest source or cause of wars over the last 2,500 years so please spare me the bits about religions providing relief from suffering.

**I personally have no need for any religion whats so ever, I dont believe in any god. There never was a god & there never will be a god. Humans hate these ideas, hate to face the fact that there really is No! after life, no heaven, no hell, etc, etc. There is just death and thats the end, this is just too profound and terrifying for 99% of the human population it would seem.

**Look how much hatred & flak has been thrown at Richard Dwarkins recently (from his new book "The God Delusion", yet its been a huge hit and best seller this year) why? because he examines with the steely logic of a scientist all the irrational non sense given for the existence of god and he disproves each idea one by one. There is no evidence for any god to exsist, it all boils down to faith but faith is irrational. Which comes back to believe in a god because we say he exsists but cannot prove it, still?

as long as there are people there will be religion. Alot of people say it is just a form of control. This is right in part but not originally. If you look into cultures and religions you see a similarity of doctrine and method. The motive for religion comes from our need to worship somthing. These days it doesnt have to be a God or figure head as such but things we spend our time on such at money, sport etc. Some say that politics is the 'new' religion

Despite the desperate atempts of communists , religion has remained largely intact. Most people have a need for their life to have a purpose. The passage of time will not alter ths simple fact. People will always want a sense of purpose and meaning to their lives. On top of that it is one of the only two possible logical conclusions one can arrive at. There is or there isn't a God/Gods. Despite peoples claims, religion is not the cause of problems. It is peoples lack of respect for other peoples rights. And this applies to the non-relgious bunch as well.

100 years is my estimate.

Our educational system is working on it. But it's going to take a few generations to get everyone deprogrammed. The reason that religion is still around today is simply the fact that until maybe 50 years or so ago, education was still in the hands of the religious right.

Many of our TEACHERS are not truly qualified to teach, as they are wrapped up in religious nonsense themselves. But I think our children's children will have a much better education than we did.

Unfortunately, there will probably still be some fringe groups 100 years from now, especially in the middle east. But as long as they're not the mainstream, no one will worry about them.

100 years is not much time reallly so i dont think it will be much different from now.

Im not religious but not against religion as it helps alot of people and as long as they dont ram it down other peoples mouths and try to convert others it does not bother me.... If religions can get along side by side which im all for then it will only get worse.

its not going anywhere.
if anything at all its going to increase as it offers the only hope for the vicissitudes of modern day living and existence. it has been shown that in soceities without religion suicides rates are high and people tend to be more depressed. Lets separate religion as a whole from religious fanatics and bigots who act like mindless robots and think everyone should be like them.....which is the cause of some religion inspired conflicts.

Religion will never become "obselete", it has also been around since the dawn of human history, much longer then the 1000 years someone else put up here. Perhaps the two or three main religions may die out in the next millenia (if we last that long), but I doubt it. As much as id like to see it.
