Well Heracles had fits of madness and murdered his children, among some others. Then he had to undergo a series of labors to atone for them. This was all started because his father, Zeus, had an affair with a mortal woman which POed his wife, Hera so she punished the result of the affair. She should have been used to it because Zeus did that all the time. In time she got over it and Heracles was allowed to become a god.

Where Jesus was mostly peaceful and his father was a single guy who figured it would be good for his kid to be tortured and die for eveyone else's sins.

Heracles is a better story.

Heres a good one to look up, Hercules going in search of Hera's magical apple tree guarded by a serpent with 100 heads. Magical apple guarded by a snake- familiar More fun Greek stuff - Pandora opens box/Eve picks apple Both are the cause of all evil... Dionysus turned water into wine. Athena was the first "virgin mother" Zeus/God in Heaven - Hades/Satan in Underworld/Hell Hell was designed off of descriptions of Tartarus (Underworld) A great flood, an ark was built yadda yadda= The bible has a lot of stories based off of Greek myths, and I agree with you a story about the son of God doing great things for mankind - is based of the stories of Hercules.

Hercules!! Hercules rocks! And Disney made a very funny animated film loosely based on his life, and no one protested! That's the sign of a great son of God - one whose followers don't get all huffy when his stories get "Disneyfied".
