'fraid not, shandy gets into the blood system quicker than normal larger due to the extra bubbles in the lemonade. The extra gas in the beverage means the alcohol level in the blood will rise quicker than normal even though less is being ingested. Less gassy alcohols take long to defuse in the gut so have a lower but longer time period to get into the blood system.
Hope this helps.

Since a shandy is only part lager, you've only had about 2 drinks- and in 2 hours, that's not bad. Chances are, if you're about average height, weight, and have average tolerance to alcohol, you're okay to drive.
BUT
If you feel at all impaired, it's better to be on the safe side and wait an hour before getting behind the wheel. An hour of cool down time could save someone's life.

There are many things that determine what your blood alcohol level is and whether or not that makes you safe to drive. Men handle Alcohol better than women because women tend to store more fatty cells. Also Size has a lot to do with it as well as what type of drinks you are drinking. If you are mixing spirits with water or soda you are safer. You might feel fine for a while after doing shots but it usually takes 20 to 30 minutes for the effects to start.
Just remember that tolerance is a big factor in how safe you are to drive after a few drinks but can affect your perception. Just because you do not feel drunk does not mean the police dont.
Time is the thing that matters most. Three drinks should be consumed in three hours.

I would have to say no as drinking and driving is always a recipe for disaster as once you have 3 shandies, its only a short step to thinking,"well one more couldn't hurt" Then its 4 shandies and the process repeats. Officially the government have no stipulation on how much you can drink before being over the limit as it varies so dramatically from person to person, so the best advice is not to mix drinking and driving.. The limit is defined using the alcohol content of the blood in mg per 100ml of blood. A BAC of 80mg is the level at which it is an offense to drive.

the average rate of the human male body to remove Alcohol from the body is about 1 unit every hour. the average shandy contains 1 unit of Alcohol if you downed all 3 pints straight away then waited 2 hours you would be on average half the legal limit so drinking through the 2 hours would put you on or over the legal limit

3 drinks over 2.5 hrs for a regular social drinker would not normally be a problem. Perhaps stay a bit longer and sip on a non-alcoholic drink before you leave. You may not feel drunk or even buzzed but 3 drinks in that 2.5hr span will put most folks right at the legal limit. If you feel like you're unable to safely operate a vehicle then dont!

Best Option is to stick with Coke or leave the car at home. You only have to get caught once and your whole life is messed up, No car makes difficult to get to work, may even cost you job. Getting a new job hard no car to get there and back, criminal record again not so good, financial loss is great. Also if you have an accident even a little over limit how would you feel? for the sake of a £5 or £10 taxi ride, it has to be worth it to leave car home?
