No 'ordinary' folk are panicking.

We are, however, all very intrigued about how it came to end up in the body of a former Russian spy that we were supposed to be protecting and was known to be wanted by the Russian government.

Various buildings in London have been inspected and found to have traces of radiation - but certainly no mass panic.

It is definately the media hyping things up, generally I'd say the British people are not scared about it apart from perhaps the people who came into contact with Litvinenko after he was infected. Just read on the BBC website that some hotel workers have tested positive - I imagine they're pretty scared now and I don't blame them! Like someone said further up we're not used to living with anything radioactive!

Maybe b/c the strongarm tactics of your leader are suspected in the death of a British citizen on British soil?

Or maybe the fact that polonium-210 is an unstable radioactive isotope that can only be produced in Canada or RUSSIA?

Or the fact that that spy was poisended instead of one of the Spice Girls...

We not scared its just that Russia committed murder against a person under British protection which is diplomatically wrong.
If people were allowed to speak freely in your country the Russian spy would not have defected in the first place .

Didn't a man just die from that? I haven't heard anyone is panicking, it sounds like some government conspiracy.

We're only panicking about terrorist attacks, the labour government, and, I'm sure there was something else we're meant to be scared about...

The British press are panicking because panic makes headlines and sells papers. The British public are not panicking.

I wasn't aware we were panicking?! I'm certainly not bothered by it personally, I spend a lot of time in labs with more dangerous substances! Really low levels of radiation don't harm and can be beneficial anyway!

Are we? I personally think the chances of me being poisoned are quite slim, also considering the only person to have gotten ill was the intended target makes me think it's all a load of bollox
