I'm around that height, and I weigh lesser. But I am trying hard to go on a diet. I want to lose weight because I think I'm fat although I know most of my weight comes from my muscle. Still, I can't say whether your friend's fat or not. Because I think I am... haiz. I wanna lose weight too

Yes, but she is still a child and not an adolescent. When she's between 12 and 13, her body will go through major changes. That said, it wouldn't hurt for her to watch what she eats and she should start moving more. She should get away from the TV and computer and get outside and ride her bike or go for a walk every day. She shouldn't drink any sugared soda pop or eat fast food or junk food (that means chips, too). She should ask her mom to keep apples, carrots and yogurt in the house for her to snack on. She should drink a lot of water. Even a little orange juice has a lot of calories. She shouldn't skip meals or go hungry.

It all depends on how tall you are sweetheart. I am a fitness instructor at curves and have to answer this question all the time. If she is a medium frame (frame is how big your bones are and how wide your shoulders are.) She is just fine. Medium frame girls that are 5 foot tall that weigh anywhere between 113-129 are perfect. Even if she is a small frame she still has plenty of room on the scale. So tell her that she is just fine and she might just have a low self-esteem. (so tell her how beautiful she actually is) If she still feels bad tell her to walk for 30 min. every other day and do sit-ups on the days she does not walk. That will work every time.

The rough formula would be to convert her height to centimeters that is 150 centimeters and minus 100 from it that leaves us with 50 so she is definitely over weight but not alarmingly. She can pull it back just by playing a little bit harder since 11 yrs is not the age to be worried about obesity.

Tell your friend that what she has is what is called baby fat, she will loose alot of it starting at the age of thirteen, but if she is selfconscious tell her to stay away from soda and junk food....and I bet her first growth spurt will take more than a few pounds away...no strict diet for now as that can cause more harm than good.good luck

At 5 feet tall, she would be a little chubby. But it's not bad, and if she doesn't gain any more she'll stretch out what she has as she grows. Don't sweat it!
