"A Spotlight Shining on a Dark Stage"
would be my most contrived metaphor for love/closeness/awesome relationship.
When it happens, it's illuminating. The person standing before you lights up and everything around them fades to darkness. They are suddenly the most important thing in your sight, without them and their 'light' everything else would seem less beautiful, less clear and simply not worth looking at. When you stand by them, you light up too, you feel warmer and more special. You have something that seems to stand out so starkly from the world around you and it makes you feel so wonderful that this light is just you the two of you, like a gift sent from heaven.
If the light goes out....you're alone in the dark. With everyone else.
Fin...

I only have love for my children right now. And I dont think that there is anything in this world that I could compare my love for them to. Nothing no matter how hard I try, comes to mind so I would have to say that my love for my children is not measurable.()

I guess it would have to be something really poetic and something that I really don't think I could live without. But very vivid and detailed.
On the beach in the caribbean sipping on margarita's and watching the sunset. Warm fresh air smelling of salt and sand and sun. Putting your toes in the sand, and feeling it sift through.

Popular literature has it that it's all heart-goes-pitter-pat/completely loopy/moonstruck when you're in love.
My view is that it's a feeling of comfort and acceptance: No need to appear to be anything but what you are. What you are is not only good enough for that person; it's wanted/needed.
When the rest of the world is kicking your butt (and sometimes it does!), the certainty that this person will say "nope, not going. You're stuck with me."
And you smile when you think of it.

Well I would have to compare my love with my boyfriend like the sun. Nothing dims it and it seems it get brighter like everyday! And even if we do go through obstacles they are like clouds. They come and go and in the end were always together shining and what not.

Well my best love made me feel like apart we were two nobodies but when we were together we were like giants.
I felt like when we were together we radiated a light put a glow on people around us.
I felt like together we made one complete person.
But her father died when she was young and that really messed her up, made her do things to drive me away, it ended very badly and I have never found that kind of love again.

I think I'd have to liken it to a physical addiction. (Not that I am an addict or alcoholic!)
Firstly the anticipation and excitement is overwhelming. The novelty of something unknown but deeply intriguing.......the sudden rush of adrenalin every time you encounter it until such a time as when you can't imagine a time where you ever managed to function without it.
For me it is to all intents and purposes a drug in itself. My girl is my life, my present and my future. I need her in my life, she supports me, inspires me and makes me feel bullet-proof.

I'd compare it to a diease. I know it seems odd, but to me, it starts with a virus... that first look, and once the infection takes over.. you feel yourself getting weak; inexcapable.. then before you know it.. the disease has taken full control over you..
at least.. that's how I See it.

He's the one who makes me smile or frown, he's the one who can make me happy or deeply sad, he's the one I don't want to live without. How can you possible compare that to a 'thing'?

Like a comfortable pair of shoes. Like the shoes I'm comfortable when I'm with them, I can take them anywhere, I know they'll never hurt me, I can rely on them but one day I know I'll be without them xxxx
