I think a pulmonologist could better answer this question, but essentially no hypopnea should be normal, the need of cpap would probably become important in association of hypopnea/apnea and hypoxia and subsequent arousals or rem sleep quality, do talk to your sleep specialist to explain the sleep report, good luck

Don't know, am looking for the answer. However, up to five per hour of sleep are considered nonpathological.
I had four apnea and two hypopnea episodes in five hours of sleep in an eight hour study done for research.
