I dont think a cat is better then a dog. a dog is more loving and more playful and is always happy to see you. and I think that cats are too independent.

Well I had a cat for 17 1/2 yrs and I wouldn't have traded her for the world. She was the best pet ever and at times acted like a dog, you called her name she came over to you, she was always waiting for you at the door and if not she came running to you once the door opened. I prefer cats b/c you can have them use a litter box, leave food out for them without them devouring the whole bowel, and they don't run your house as long as you have them declawed. I have friends and family that have dogs and they are just as good however I am more of a cat person, it really depends on the person and how you feel.

No, they just think they are! The problem with a kitten is that eventually it becomes a cat. The cartoon "Get Fuzzy" perfectly portrays my feelings regarding cats vs. dogs. My dog and I just had a growling and wrestling match on the floor with each other and it was a ton of fun, not something you can do with a cat. The dog looks at me with big wide adoring eyes as if I were God. I've had cats and cats are cool and cats are cuddly, but something about their aloofness mixed with friendliness gives an air of selfishness and using others and not the love you can feel with a dog. Dog is a hell of a lot more work, but I think it's worth it. My dog is crazy, but I wouldn't have it anyother way and I love her because of it. She's my buddy! But cat's are fine, if that's what you want and you don't mind feeling used. :)

That answer pretty much depends on what you are looking for in a pet. I have a dog and three cats and I love them all-I couldn't imagine not having a cat or a dog in my home. Good Luck with your choice. Merry Christmas.

I prefer dogs because they are more social than cats. I have both, but my dogs seem to be more loyal and loving than my cats. Cats tend to be very antisocial because they are pretty much self-maintained, you just have to make sure they have food and water and their litter box is changed. Mine rarely like attention from me or my fiance, while my dogs are always ready to play or cuddle up on my lap. Plus, I find that my dogs can be a comfort to me as well, when I am feeling down or upset, they seem to be empathetic to my feelings. It is different for everyone though, because my fiance of course prefers the cats, that's why I have two of them. Everyone has a different opinion of each animal, and it can be true that dogs can be demanding and take a lot of your time.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

I would say yes because I've always loved cats my whole life. However, I would love to have both cats & a dog someday!

I think of it like this: a dog is like a man good fun, loyal but to eager to please all the time.
A cat is more like a woman, mysterious, sometimes self absorb but alluring.
So I prefer a cat any day.
