My daughter just turned 3 but..
When she gets up she watches TV for a bit. I am very selective on what she watches. She plays with her toys. We work on her colors, numbers, letters and shapes. I read to her. She plays some more. Watches some more TV. She plays with her leap frog game system.
Every day we fit in education no matter what.
She helps me clean and cook.
That's about it during the school hours. Once her sister comes home and is done with her homework. They play for awhile. The days seem to go by very fast.
Oh we also got her two little mice (dora and boots) for her birthday so she plays with them too.

I have a 5 month old and a 2.5 year old and I am in the same boat. Plus my 5 month old has acid reflux and cries nonstop some days. I do have to say that it gets better the older the baby gets. What about your mom or any other relative? You need to find some time to yourself for the safety of your children. Do you have a young teen in your neighborhood that can watch your children while you do things around the house or take a walk (usually cheaper or just want some experience). Also talk to your fiancee about how you are feeling. I have found that the way I approach my husbands makes a difference in how helpful he will be. If I come to him angry he is more likely to be defensive. Also find a mommy and me group, it is great for support and friendships. You could also check your local gyms to see if they offer free childcare with your membership. That way you could get all your stress out and have an hour to yourself. If you you are really feeling stressed your children maybe sensing and reacting to it by crying. The saying,"When mommy is happy then everyone is happy" is so true.

My daughter who is 2 years 3 months likes too...
Watch TV,
Go into her big sisters room and get into their toys,
play with her toys,
go outside,
climb on me 75% of the time,
and tangle her fingers through my hair.
I take her to play group twice a week at a preschool.

Mine watches Go diego go and dora, mostly just keep it on noggin for him,
We go for walks and he rides his bike, sometimes we go to the mall to just walk around and look at things. any interactive play time you can get to get them used to the real world is great. Mine happens to immitate everything I say when were out so I stay possitive and use my manners, he will often yell after we leave a store "HAVE A GOOD DAY, TOO"
He gets into everything and can trash the house in 15 min flat. While my daughter was content playing barbies all day when she was this age.

Well, my son loves thomas the train ( he hates bob sorry) I buy train tracks for him and we are saving enough so he can go from his bedroom to our living room. (the tracks are expensive) We play with his trains all day, he eats, I tickle him, I fly him in the air, we go outside with warm coats and take pictures of the showing moon. make crafts for holidays, trash his room and clean it up together. We sweep the floor together, he has a broom. Have bath time with boats. We play all together with my 8 month old. No naps for him. I let him play in his room by himself sometimes, so his attention span can expand. oh we also go online and look at pictures of the moon, and thomas. Oh and we read books too.

My 2-year-old likes to build with blocks, paint, walk outside (recently also throw snow into the air above her head), play with her doll, play with her toy farm, play with toy food, do wooden puzzles, dance, help me clean the house, help me cook, play with random adult stuff like my tape measure and my stethoscope, ask me tons of questions, and read a lot of books. She watches no TV at all. I don't necessarily worry about keeping her occupied all day, but I do like to play with her. I also make sure she has time to play by herself.

I babysit for a 2 yr old since all my children have started school. she loves to watch Dora and Diego, play with any toy she can get her hand on, and loves to draw and make crafts. I just let her "explore" till she finds what she wants me to join in on... i did mine the same way.

When by kids were 2...I had them in supervised play groups with a licenced day care for a few days a week. This was to get them ready for preschool the following year.
The days they were home..we went out and did things for at least half the day. We would run errands, go to the park, go out to lunch.

I can turn on the TV, especially if Dora's on, and my daughter won't make a sound until she gets hungry or thirsty, or needs to go to the bathroom. She's also into helping me clean house, which I love. She's a neat freak!!
