the wiring harness im using connects to the factory wiring. the cd player i am installing (pioneer deh-7700), says to ground the wire to the chassis. do i really need to ground the wire to metal if i am using the factory connections?

its a better ground for the head unit, but your head unit isnt pulling that much power. just put it to the factory wire, and you should be fine. unless you end up with a ground loup, then you can reground.
