I've heard this term "butterfly" in more than one movie in which guys called two women their "butterfly". I'd like to know what it means in this context. Thanks for your answers.

Well I'm not sure about that context but in Slovak nations it meas 'beautiful prostitute' or 'lady of the night'.

There is a song that goes like this
"Come my Lady, Come My Lady, Your my Pretty Butterfly, baby Child, I love you, your My Butterfly."

I can't remember the name of the Band. I think that is what started the trend of calling girls Butterflys.

It means that when he met you you were still a caterpillar (not fully matured) and now you're a butterfly (matured)

I think it's only a lovely and sweet way to call his partner..
Havent you ever heard any man calling his gf or wife, "my bug's bunny"?...or "little mouse"?...or even "my little candy"? It's more common than we think.
