I have no intention of fighting in the war nor do i think we have any place being there. Is that OK to have these beliefs or am I being wimp for enjoying the very freedoms that american soldiers pay for with their blood.

If you speak up, and speak your mind. Well that is what soldiers are insuring for you. Your right to free speech.

If you don't like the war, well i have a secret for you. Nobody likes war. War is hell. Ask anyone who has been in one and they will tell you that it is no walk in the park.

As for being a wimp. Nope.

If you lived in fear or speaking. Then you would be a wimp. But i ask only one thing. Think before you speak. Tell us why you feel that the war is bad, give us good reasons. Tell people the truth, and never be afraid.

We live in America, more than a land it is an idea. The idea is freedom and it has taken root in oh so many places that people said it never would. So you have nothing to fear.

Enjoy your freedom i would tell you, tonight someone will sleep in a fox hole so that you may. Speak for that soldier, for he fights for you.

It doesn't make you a wimp, it's actualy brave to speak out against the status quo if you believe that it's wrong. And truth be told, sometimes it is American freedom that our soldiers fight for, but can we always be sure that that is the case? It was their choice to fight; you didn't make them go, so it's not like it's you that they're fighting for.

A few years ago it made you brave. I was against this thing before the Kerry election and being surrounded by pro Bushers in a conservative state made it hard to express your political views. Sadly many do not know what was really going on, and still have some wierd twisted conviction to this day. My parents served and gave me true facts of what really was happening, growing up with both of your parents deployed really told me what war was like. I believe we need to win or get out, this half assed ocupation in Afghanistan and Iraq is pretty pathetic.

It is never wrong to speak out against any war as long as your motives are honorable, unfortunately some in our country will only be against a war because the president is not of their party.
Even thought I did not vote for Clinton I thought our cause was noble in Bosnia and I supported our country and our president, but some people has so much irrational dislike for someone that it often blind them of the big picture and helps divide our nation

Gandhi of India, war between people and bullets.

It is a true show of non-violence to defeat the British.

People power, Philippines

Our country was under military rule, and the voice of the people won

Speak up, you may get a bullet and die, but your voice will live forever as a freedom fighter.

It is your god given and constitutional right to speak out against the war and I am a veteran. And since military service is not required in the US, you are not required to fight this war you do not believe in. But if you ever join to get the college money and the training, don't whine if you get sent to fight. It is what they do! They volunteered knowing what could happen. Now if your saying you would never fight for your country no matter what, then yes, you are a coward.

It's completely be okay to be against a war, and not wanting to sign up & go serve in it. It's your right as an American citizen to be against something, and to publicly voice your opposing opiunion.

The only problem that you'd have is that if there ever were a draft (there won't be, and there will probably never be a draft again) you would be thrown in jail if you didn't report for duty.

Other than that, it's okay. Share your views. It's a right given to, and I believe expected, of all of us.

I do not regard it as 'brave' to speak out against the war simply because there is no danger or risk involved in doing so.

The people taking the risks are the ones who insure that you can speak your opinions without any risk.

Not a wimp. *MY* soldier says you have all the right in the world to have your own opinion. If you can't express your views, than soldiers DID die in vain.

I don't force my opinions on anyone, except to respond to posts trying force theirs on me - then calling me an idiot for agreeing with Bush.

Well, maybe not "brave", but perhaps "concerned". I am against the war, hell, many of us are, BUT....the troops, I'm all about them. Its them who will suffer from its after-effects when they come home, its them who'll still see images for a lifetime just as other brave we sent off to war in the past. My sole concern, only concern is them- and of course I want them to send as many bad guys to hell as they can.
But really, you have a point- is it ok to speak out about the war- absolutely...but not if it undermines their sacrafices and mission.

Salute to ALL of you out there in harm's way....stay safe. And Thank You for you're efforts...what you do today, will benefit MANY for years to come.
