I think there is also a Most Reverend. what's the difference between them ( apart from the obvious!)

There really is no difference when speaking of "Reverend", "Very Reverend", "Right Reverend" and so on. They are all empty titles that humans have taken for themselves in violation of the principle Jesus taught at Matthew 23:7-10.

Even Christ did not allow people to call him "good" at Luke 18:19 (apparently it wss being used as a title). He deferred to his Heavenly Father as the only one to be spoken of in this fashion.

A reverend believes. A Very Reverend believes a lot.

it is an adjective -- the title of a member of the clergy- the very and most may be to show much respect may be.
