My kids hated it when I ate their belly. So if they were bad, all I had to say was, "I'm hungry," and look at their belly.

I am a single parent and a child is going to be a child no matter what age they are.The child need to be taught that having (his, her) way is not going to work that's number1, and what ever the parent say it goes no matter if the child like the answer that the parent give the child that's number 2. When the child start hitting (his, her) self the parent need to punish the child right then an there because if you wait to punish a child then the child don't wait. But the parent got to be the parent instead of the friend

How old is the child? Usually shouldn't have to say no more than twice in my opinion. It also depends on what is going on at the time. If the child is old enough, you may need to sit him down and have a serious talk about what actions are allowed and what aren't. Try to find out why he is acting out and come up with a fair compromise. List consequences for wrong-doing and you MUST stand by those consequences or he will think he can always get away with it.

You must take control. Say no once. Make limits. Tell the child what will happen if they continue the behavior and then follow through. Like, if you keep hitting yourself I am going to (whatever). Give the child guidelines and enforce them. Make sure you let the child know you love them. Do "special" things when they have had a good day. Make time in your day to focus on playing with child one on one. Be firm, be strong, and be calm. Don't let the child win by getting out of control yourself. If you start to feel you are "loosing it" have the child go to their room and calm down. Good Luck!

For one if i have a chid and they raised their hands to me, i would make sure that their hand stays that way for life. You only are suppose to say no once, if they dont get it, then punish them. Dont let the kid control you, you are the parent not you kid.
