Crispy Hash Browns
1 lb Russet baking potatoes, peeled and grated
3 Tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper
Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large stick-free frying pan on medium high heat.
While the pan is heating, use a potato ricer much like you would a garlic press, and press out as much moisture as you can from the grated potatoes. If you don't have a ricer, you can use paper towels to absorb some of the moisture from the grated potatoes, but it doesn't work nearly as well.
When the oil heats up to the point of shimmering, but not smoking, add the grated potatoes. Spread the potatoes out along the bottom of the pan. They should not be too thick in any one place, no more than 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the poatoes. After a few minutes, lift up one edge of the potatoes and see how done they are. When they have fried to a golden brown they are ready to flip. Use a large spatula to flip the potatoes over all at once, or divide the large potato cake into halves or quarters and flip. Again, when golden brown, they are ready to serve.

Hash Browns are generally made with grated raw potatoes. Fried potatoes are generally chunks that are fried. I prefer to use parboiled potatoes slice 6-9 mm thick, fried in some butter and oil, until they have crispy edges. They are completely different.

cook the potatoes, about 6 large ones, in water untill soft, mash it and add salt and pepper to taste. Add cake flour/self raising flour with a teaspoon baking powder and 1 large egg to the mashed potatoes. (I should say about 250ml flour)o 6 large potatoes, just to bind it). Finely chop about 2 onions, and fry untill lightly brown. Take a packet of pork bacon (250grams), cut in very small pieces, add with the onions and fry untill done. Let it cool down. Add the onion and bacon mix to the mashed potatoes.Fry in a pan with a little bit of oil, on medium heat. NJOY!

1 Large potato per person
Non stick pan
Enough oil so it doesn't stick, but not too much!
Cut up onions & sautee in oil
Your favorite cheese like Velveeta, Montery Jack, Swiss, etc...
Your favorite chili like Hormel w/without beans, Wolf Brand, etc..
You'll need a cheese grater
Start off by washing potato off, then peel potato, then use cheese grater to make
hashbrowns out of potato
to keep potato from turning brown after peeled place potato in water after made into
hashbrowns, It sounds difficult but it's real simple, then place hashbrowns in pan on top
of onions if onions are disired, make sure to form a circle in pan with hashbrowns, let
brown on one side on medium heat, then turn over & brown other side, then if you
have a microwave heat chili up, take hashbrowns out of pan & put cheese ontop, & of
course while cooking put garlic, salt, & pepper on them, then last step is to put chili on
top, makes a complete meal, & tastes Wonderfull!!!

I was going to answer this for you but it seems someone already got it exactly right. I thought I was the only one that made hash browns like that but the recipe prior to this is exactly what you want to do!
