The biggest problem in America? Poverty. Everyone says America is the richest nation in the world, and yet we have children who go hungry every single day. Education is number 2. Other nations have less money to educate their children, yet American are the least educated in the developed world. Arrogance is a problem in America. Americans are arrogant, and seem to want to push their point of view and values on other nations, in the name of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...

Why am I proud of my country? We don't kill in the name of God, Women are allowed to co-exist and free. We are equal to men and not subservient to men. We have a constitution and are allowed to speak out against our government without fear of being killed or imprisoned....All Americans have this right.
I love that, no matter who you are in The USA, you can become whatever you want to be if you work hard and want it bad enough. I love that the USA is a melting pot, and we have people here from all other nations co-existing, and working side by side for a common good.

When I wake up, I wonder why we worry about anything but alternate fuel for our homes and cars.

All car companies in America should produce cars with electric and ethanol engines.

During our next natural disaster is the time when Al Qaeda will bomb the oil refineries in Saudi Arabia. Our entire Country will be plunged into the kind of disaster from which we can't emerge because there will be no oil, no gas, no power.

How can each of us start the changes today?

I am very proud that in America we have the freedoms that we do and that our Nation helps all other nations in times of crisis.
Our Nation, after September 11, 2001 needs to find a way to live on with alternate fuels. The alternative is too scary.

Each of us need to try to find the way to start using alternate fuels before it is too late!

U.S.
Problem(s): One out of every 38 people are arrested and jailed- why? (If you are African American and male you have a 1 in 9 chance of jail time and a 1 in 2 chance of a hostile police encounter- see NYPD) The 2 party system does not allow the freedom of new voices to be heard in politics and excludes political parties unless they are wealthy enough to buy thier way into an election. There is NO system of real justice- "This is a court of LAW son, not a court a Justice" -Oliver WEndell Homes- U.S. supreme court justice.
Pride: ALthough we remain a VERY racist nation- things are imporving as all people realize THEY are poor and helpless against the elite power structure. IN my small town where almost everyone has traditionally been one step away from KKK membership, I have witnessed a turn-around in thinking after Hurricane Katrina. the Locals would say things like: " Why don't we all drive there and help those poor people" where just a few years ago they would have been referred to as THOSE BLACK PEOPLE- and there would not have been an offer to help.( Funny how suffering is the only way we find a common denominator in our society.) The past election showed just how pissed off we are as a nation and possibly WE the PEOPLE will take this nation back one day soon away from the wealthy power elite that have always been our "leaders".

Jamaica:
Problems: Same as most developing countires..crime, poverty, corruption, nepotism and disorganisation in the civil service.

Why are we proud?: This tiny island produced Bob Marley, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Marcus Garvery, Harry Belafonte, Merlene Ottey...yeah and even Colin Powell. We have a music form that has been copied and loved by people from all over the world....REGGAE.

This tiny island was the first Caribbean island to enter the Winter Olympics...with a Bobsled team, and we dont even have snow!. We qualified for the World Cup Football competition in 1998 and brought Reggae Music to France.

We are small but a hell of a force to be reckoned with....our Jerk food is world class.

Mountains, beaches, rivers and waterfalls...we have them all and a people who are full of vibes.

We introduced the world to 'Rasta Speak' and now everyone says "Irie".

Other countries with ulterior motives coming here probably illegally using our over-done 'political correctness' against us. This will prove a mistake not having any backbone anymore. I'm proud of what the founding fathers initiated it to be UNITED States of America.

United States

Problem: Arrogance. We've come to see ourselves on a higher plain than the rest of the world, and it's led to some regrettable policies over the last couple of decades. It's time we began viewing the rest of the world as equal partners instead of minions to be dictated to.

Pride: The freedom we have is amazing. Our government is so wonderfully respectful of our human and civil rights that I have the ultimate control over what I do with my life. And we've served as a beacon of such democratic principles for over 200 years.

I love the U.S.!
