I dont think we do, and even the Bible is confusing in this matter
In 2 chronicles 6:36 it says "ALL are sinners"
yet in 1 John 3:9 it says "Whoever is born of God Doth not commit sin"
and then, lastly, in Acts 10:34 it says
"But in every nation he that fears God and works righteousness is accepted with him (God) "
So, what does it really mean?
I take it to mean, whoever stays away from sin, and does good in their life and believes in and fears God-- will make it to Heaven. But I'm wrong, according to most Christians. I refuse to just digest everything I have learned in Bible school, as it's brainwashing, I can pick up the Bible and read things myself without the worthless anologies and explanations people try to give it.

All actions have consequences - and sometimes the consequences go far and last a long time. Good and bad.
Two people marry - and because of their unique genetic mix, all of their descendants are susceptible to a specific disease.
George Washing decides that the new leader of this new country should be addressed simply as Mr. President - and although it is no law written down anywhere, the custom is still in practice today.
The famous feud between two families in the mountain country, the Hatfields and the McCoys, went on for generations. The hatred between peoples in the Middle East and in many places in Africa goes back so far it almost cannot be traced.
The larger the offense, the great the consequence. The first sin - the sin of Adam and Eve - was a sin against God, the sin of disobedience. And the descendants of Adam and Eve, according to Genesis, age and grow sick, have to work, and do not get to live in Eden - all because of the sin. We are, by virtue of our birth, still receiving the consequences of that act.
It's not that we pay for that sin - we receive the consequence of that sin.
Of course, if you don't believe in the Bible on any level, then it's a non-question.

We do not.
Jews do not believe in the existence of Original Sin. The concept of Original Sin simply states that because Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they brought Death into the world. Every human being dies because Adam and Eve committed a sin, and for their sin, all humans are punished with death. However, the Bible describes something entirely different. Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden because if they remained, they could eat the fruit of the Tree of Life, which would make them IMmortal. If Adam and Eve had to eat the fruit of the Tree of Life to become IMmortal, then they were created mortal to begin with. They did not bring Death into the world, and we don't die because they sinned. As a matter of Biblical fact, the answer to Question One shows that one person cannot die as the punishment for the sins committed by another. We die because Death is a natural part of existence, and has been since from the moment the first human beings were created. That is why God told the animals, before Adam and Eve ate the fruit from The Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil, to be fruitful and to multiply, since they needed to replace themselves. God also told the same thing to Adam and Eve before they ate that fruit as well.

Well believing we went back to the bible times and that we all came from Adam and Eve, the only thought that comes to mind is that children pay for the sins of their parents. But my question is how are we still paying for their sins? Besides being put out of the Garden of Eden and realizing they were naked what real punishment do we endure? I mean is knowing shame and being self consious really that bad??

Read the events that lead to adam and eve induging... Decide for yourselves whose fault was it!
If Adam and eve did not exist... there would not have been any human beings! The first of the species of human beings the revered Adam and Eve were the first to surface on Mother Earth as human beings. Their direct ancestors being the ape family!
Now Adam and Eve came onto this Earth. They had both to act as a family. Both were son and daughter of God. That made them brother and sister. How come they could have fathered children?
In the initial stages of development of human life... nothing existed which we could have called as society or community. It was a raw savage world. As per the theory of Charles Darwin, "it was the time for survival of the fittest". It was the time to do and die.
Words like ethics and morality did not exist for even words did not exist during those times. The Lipi (written form of communication) was developed at a much later stage in time.
Even a brother and sister relationship did not exist at that time. There were only two human beings who had surfaced on Mother Earth. They had to copulate and produce children. They did not do it intentionally. They never knew anything about it.
It was that it happened. They did it and something was born. At that moment of time they would have been extremely surprised not knowing what to do about it. Eventually they would have realized it was one of them.
They reared that child and with passage of time another child was born. This time it was a female child. As this small family progressed further... this male and female child copulated at the appropriate time. And the whole family started to grow.
Now there were two families. With passage of time many more families came into existence. Until this point of time there was nothing like morality and ethics that played any role. For the sake of their survival and progeny these families kept on multiplying.
This was the only way to keep intruders at bay. They had to protect themselves from the wild beings roaming Mother Earth.
Ever since the Revelations of God came into existence... the human being who had invoked these words of God realized that the system had to be ordered at some stage. And some system of morality and ethics came into being.
As of today... the copulation by the children of Adam and Eve was a sin but at that time it was not a sin for the relationship of brother and sister never existed in those times.
The development of relationships in human life came at a very later the stage. It was only possible when the community would have developed into a massive strength. Population somewhere in thousands would have prompted the wise and the elders of those times to separate out into distinct families.
We need to understand that whatever is truth today may not hold tomorrow. In a scientific developing world the values whether they are ethical, moral or otherwise keep changing.
We also need to understand that during the times of Mahabharata... the battle was fought using swords, horses and elephants. But now the warfare consists of atomic bombs, missiles and chemical warfare. More on adam and eve here- http://www.godrealized.com/dharma_definition.html

I never ate any damn apples. I don't even like apples. Nor have I ever clothed myself in fig leaves (although I tend to clothe myself in something, or else I get funny looks on the subway). But why should I care that Jesus "died for me" when it was Adam & Eve's sins he was supposedly fixing?
It's like being asked to pay slavery reparations, when I was born over a century after slavery was abolished.

It's not necessarily paying for their sins. Think of it as children carrying certain traits of their parents. Many children of alcoholics have to be careful about alcohol. Sin was passed down to us. It's entirely our choice what we do with it. As was stated before, God Himself provided a way for sin to be handled through His Son. I encourage you to read Romans chapters 7 and 8. Paul explains this better than I can. Hope this helps.

You people who're saying "Christ died for us" don't make any sense. If Christ died for the human race, then why aren't things as they were in the bible again? Those people seemed to have special abilities, were able to live long lives and all of that stuff, BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER Christ was supposedly born. Why are so many people on Earth now damned to lives of torment, poverty, pain, plague, oppression, and practically every evil imaginable? It doesn't make sense. This stuff would not exist if our sins were supposedly cleansed. Christianity makes no sense. I think the truer statement for you people would be.. Christ died for SOME of us. The rest of us can rot in hell.

We are not supposed to pay for the sins of Adam and Eve and for that matter anyone, except ourselves.
