I plan to use them as the light beams for my home security system. I find with normal light beams the lens tend to mist up in wet weather. A laser could be aimed at the sensor direct. The laser can also be greatly reduced in brightnesss by pulsing it to be on for only 1 milisec in 40 this also reduces the power in case anyone looked directly into it.

It is powered from an external power supply, no batteries! The one I have on test has been on a week now
