my son's great Grandfather died around 1960, he lived in NY @ thae time of his dealth. I looked up obituaries , but found no info. Do you know any sites that would have this info ? THANKS

Hey summer time Mom,
The best and quickest place to look is the Family Search site below for ancestors (dead relatives). Obits are another story, and so are death certificates.
Get the Death Certificate if you can, it gives the accurate details of the death, location, time, etc. Then, you can get the Obit from the closest town library. Or, you can look at the sites attached. Remember that librarians can be called, and they love to help.

You can also try www.ancestry.com which has a lot of information, but I think you have to pay to see the records. They do offer a 14-day trial though. Good luck.

Try the Social Security Death Index at Rootsweb. Not only will you find where he died, you will also find out where the card was issued.
