Anyone who answers this question without first looking for the origins of this name(persian gulf)should definitely do so .Persia was a great Dynasty when Arab countries were nothing but desert.you're right.there are many Arab countries as opposed to one Iran,but refer to the map and look at the coastline of Iran which stretches from east to west.Find Iranian islands that we treasure.I don't care if our government doesn't care but WE IRANIANS never let anyone geopardize and history and rich culture.NOT EVEN IN THEIR DREAMS.

What is your actual question? Since the they are 2 different names for the same body of water are you asking which name we prefer...or correct....or what?
Beore I answer...what does your question have to do with the military? Perhaps you shouldhave placed it under Geography.
And to be more precise....in the middle east the majority of Arabs use the term Arabian Gulf and not Arab Gulf. In fact the road in Kuwait that runs parallel to this body of water is called the Arabian Gulf Road.
On the other hand the countries adjacent to the Gulf are referred to as the Arab Gulf states.
I prefer Arabian Gulf even though it is not the original name...or the official name. Why? The only Persian country in the region is Iran and I don't care for their politics.

Its only one Persian states there while there is 5 Arab states on the other bank, I'd rather call it Arabian Gulf

what a question !definitely is Persian golf for ever .this means no body can this name
,even national geography can't change it ,which they tried to do so but no way.
this sort of questions are just a dream , Arabs
has always had this dream and they take this dream to their grave .Persian golf is belong to Persian Empire and nobody can change the history . when Persian published the first human right law ,Arab was hunting lizard to feed his self and they were killing their own daughter because of shy.
