I recently broke up with a woman who is a prostitute. It seems contradictory to me that she is also a devout Catholic. I guess she must give good confession.

There are too many variables here that remain unaddressed in order to give you a good answer. For example, is your ex-girlfriend troubled by the moral dilemma of being both Catholic and a prostitute, or does she seem pretty happy in her work despite being a prostitute?

Does she go to confession often, and if so, is it a sincere confession? If her confession is not sincere, she will not be forgiven.

We have to remember that we all have moral flaws; particular moral weaknesses that, for whatever reason, we are vulnerable to.

Some people do make better Christians than others, but we all sin. Therefore, it is a mistake to judge someone's worthiness of being a Christian based solely upon their inclination to sin.

Only God can determine how we are received in the end we are judged by how many good deeds we did in our life time and how many bad things we did. look at it like a scale, if the women is doing eg: prostitute she will have to do a hole lot of good deeds to throw the balance in her favour. It doesn't mean its OK to be a prostitute, God may not Accept any good deeds from her because of this, but we are not to judge her. That's Gods job. But I would say, If you are practising a religion and are not following it, isn't that being a hypocrite?

Of course. Prositution is just a job. Famous televangelist pay for the service of prostitutes male and female, At least one Cardinal (Mgr Danielou) died in the arm of one in the sixty's. Obviously the church and prostitution have a lot in common.

As long as she confesses her sins on a regular basis, and does lots of repenting.
After all, those pedophile priests are still Catholics, after molesting hundreds of little kids. At least a prostitute's clients are all consenting adults.

Sure, why not? It's just a job. Many citizens are whores for the man...slaving away for pennies and having taxes TAKEN from them, and get hardly any support back. Nah, they get lied to instead, and have their children taken from them, and shipped to another country to fight when the leaders of that country care nothing about them.

A persons religion has nothing to do with he job. Besides all she has ot do is to confess once a week or just before her death. Just don't screw her to death without a preist being close by.
