For safety sake, don't take any drugs (Valium...). Engage a Driving instructor who is well versed with the local testing office. These instructors are familiar with the roads and traffic conditions in the area. You know, the roundabouts, T-junctions, narrow roads where you might be asked to do a 3-point turn or parallel parking.
Even there may be a give-way sign or keep-clear crossings. These give you bonus points.
Make sure the same car in which you trained is available on the day of road test. And yes, have a two-hour practice immediately before the test.
You will pass the test the first time - as I did!!!
Remember, good instructor, practice and self confidence are the three secrets to pass the test the first time.
Good luck

As everyone says - just keep calm. I treated it like a nice drive in the morning and passed fine. I kept going the wrong direction from the examiners instructions but he said thats ok im testing your driving skills, not your ability to follow directions. He was pleased more that i didnt panic and try to swerve back to the correct direction but just kept camly going. So yeah, just stay calm and don't panic. I found out after he was the chief examiner for my region and told his staff he wished he could have an examinee like me all the time. Eeee i was chuffed.
Good luck anyway!

Try to converse with the instructor a little bit. Talking about the weather usually starts it off nicely. Remember the basics, use your turn signals, stop behind stop signs and lights, give pedestrians the right of way, use the proper lanes, and know how to parallel park and you'll do just fine!
