Albert Einstein said that God does not play dice with the universe but quantum physics proved that the world is governed by probabilities. I'd say the science of genetics proves that people are largely shaped by the odds. For example, Pretty girl is pretty because of a fortunate set of genes. Attractive people are more likely to get more love and attention and thus they tend to develop greater confidence and intelligence and social skills and earn more money. It's not guaranteed but it does give you better odds at success. Luck isn't everything but it certainly plays its part.

Luck or chance is a big factor in every ones life. But not the most important. Luck comes to everyone but it's what you do with it that will 'rule' your life more then anything else. If you believe in God, He will bless you not by setting up a "lucky" situation, but by giving you the Grace and wisdom to do what is best in any situation.

Many people don't believe in luck but that doesn't make it the truth. What we called luck is no other than external elements that affect us that we don't have control of. For example, we can't control it if thunderstorm happens. So it will be easy and common to just say it's our luck. It's not luck only if we can predict thunderstorm and control it. But if we can't, then it's really stupid to say we don't believe in luck when we don't even know when we will get sick, get accident, win a lottery, or even death.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
-Ecclesiastes 9:11 (KJV)

For those Christians who insist there is no such thing as luck, I'd advise you to go read that book you're always telling other people to read.
