Cognitive restrucureing. (Change the way you think)
One method; "Thoguht Stopping." Inside your head yell the word stop and replace with a good thought. This is a method that therapist's use.
What kind of bad thoughts are you having? Is bad thoughts about yourself, such as I can't do this. Thought stopping works wonders with this kind of thinking. It doesn't work over night. It will take time.
If you have a low self-esteem find something in life that you enjoy to do. I had an extremely low self-esteem and I have found that college as boosted my spirits. In the begining it was difficult and almost seemed to be self defeating because I felt as if I didn't have what it takes to do good in school. I would have bad thoughts about myself because that is the way my brain works. I retrained my brain by thinking in a different way. One of the things I would say to myself, after I said stop was, I can do this and it doesn't matter what grade I get as long as I learn something. Over time I started feeling better about myself and brought my G.P.A. from a 2.5 to a 3.5.
The point of my personal history is I didn't realize that my self esteem issue was because I felt as if I was going no where. I didn't realize that until I started feeling better about my self. Now I feel that I have a purpose here.
Negitive views about others? Perhaps you feel as if others are talking about you behind your back. If this is the case use the Thought Stopping Method and ask yourself why do you care if they are talking about you. Chances are, they are not, but if they were is it really that important to you.
I know that your good person and I don't even know you. I know this because you feel bad about having bad thoughts and you would like to know how to stop it.
If this doesn't seem to help then go to a therapist for help. They can give you more tips on how to change your thinking. If you don't want to be put on medication tell them you would like to work out your problems without the medication.
Don't let a doctor simply put you on medication. Medication alone isn't going to work. You will need to change the way you think, meaning you will need to go to a psychologist.
There are probably self help books our there that can give you more tips. Try typeing in Cognitive restructing self help. or Thought stopping self help, or Cognitive behavioral self help. Something should pop up for you.

You can read the books for prevent bad thoughts.
and always you think a good. like about your nature, How can Impress you other, How re you Friends.
Or, when the bad thoughts are coming the count the number from 100 to 1.
It is natural proses for prevent bad thoughts.

Think about God's love and His purpose for us. Memorize His precious promises.
In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.)

The only way to stop having bad thoughts is by doing something you like. Your brain needs to be stimulated. and if you have OCD (unwanted thoughts or images in your head), then it needs constant stimulation.
