Statues are normally placed to remind us of a situation or of a person, event or culture..
The artwork alone should be respected even if the issue its portraying isn't something you believe in.
If its statues in cemeteries then again .. Its showing disrespect for other people..
So being so disrespectful, they should be caught and dealt with.
Do you really want these people in our community that show disrespect let off for there distruction?

The statue belongs to some one, and if its you, then you have the right to not have anyone vandalize your property.
Statues in a grave yard, should hold solemn respect, because its a place of repose for the bodies of our loved ones...
I would be touchy on anything that is vandalized, because I paid good money for the statuary, and expect it to be in good shape when ever I gaze upon it.
Let them destroy thier own property, and leave what I put up, alone!
If found, definetely prosecute or have them replace or repair it instead...
I wish you well..

sometime I think, why enemy country send terrorists and blasts trains compartments in our country, when we can burn entire train if someone breaks a hand or nose of a statue. taking a clue from this incident, I think next time they will go on statue rampaging and we will destroy ourselves with each statue destroyed.
Our impotent govt. can not utter a single word in the name of hurting the psyche of a particular cast or community.
Why can't they remove all the statues from public places and install it in a museum like building with just one door and plenty of cameras and guard it with minimum force. People should be allowed to pay homage to their "beloved" statue on their birth and death anniversary.
This is sheer madness. We should never ever give human names to roads or chowks and let us take vow never to install new statues, because as per the law it is the responcibility of the installer to protect the statue but in effect, the damage to social and public property is always done by the goons of installer. sic.

No one follows the path shown by great people but, just for political mileage people will make issue of nothing. Did any of the people who participated in protests follow even a single suggestion put forth by the great legend? Its just making an issue out of nothing.

i totally depends on the reason with with which it is done.... though it has recently become a tool of some un-social elements to disrupt peace and harmony ... it was a way of people to show their anger....
As aptly said in the movie Muna bhai -2 its imp to keep them in our hearts rather than in statues and pics.

Yes I think that we should be upset with people who desecrate statues. I don't think that people should do it at all. People everywhere can be mean and do it.

Absolutely. Anyone who destroys art, needs to be stopped. The act itself is a cry for help.
